THIS IS ME
Hey there, my name is Babatunde Olanipekun. I was born in Lagos, Nigeria, spent my adult, career life in Johannesburg, South Africa. You can call me Tunde for short, pronounced [Toon-Day]. I have a mission to pursue my purpose passionately, as translated through this acronym. H. O. P. E. which means Helping Other People Excel. I have a lot to share with you, but let me summarize my journey with you. I look forward to sharing more with you through my future blog posts.
MY STORY
I've in the past worked for the Supreme Audit institution of South Africa, in various roles that cuts across Human Resources Management, to Stakeholder Relationship Management and Communication for almost twelve years. In all these roles, the day to day most favored element of my responsibilities is being able to interact with people, from diverse backgrounds. This has instilled in me the passion to assist people unlock their potentials and excel in their various objectives.
The use of acronyms has been one which I find interesting in defining my experiences and has birthed a movement SEE Exceptionally LLC which started as a motivational and inspirational page based on Christian values on Instagram called SEE Everything Exceptionally. Having immigrated from South Africa to the US about three years ago, I was in a chapter of my life where I was experiencing life differently, and got SEE up and running in the fall of 2016. I have used that platform as a medium to encourage people who might be going through life's trials by sharing inspirational and motivational quotes based mostly on my life experiences, current and past.
In the course of getting to where I am today in life, I've learnt that success means different things to different people. It all depends on the way you see it. For me, happiness is the new success. In my pursuit of happiness, I've realized that doing the things I love will bring me the success I long for.
MY ESCAPE FROM 9 TO 5
One of the things I have always dreaded is taking decisions that will jeopardize the ability to provide for myself and family. Fear has often put me in a state of complacency several times, disempowering me to launch full time as an entrepreneur. If you're in this state right now, don't worry I understand your predicaments. It took me years to summon up courage and break forth to pursue my dream of being an entrepreneur. My last job at Cal State University, San Bernardino California had helped propel me towards this dream, having spent six months there, my contract wasn't renewed and that ushered in my new-found journey of being an entrepreneur.
WHY I WANT TO BE IMPACTFUL
My passion to help people is driven from my family background, seeing what my parents find joy doing, helping other people in ways they can. With that experience, it has been a part of me to help people. My motto which I've put in this acronym defines it all-"H.O.P.E. which means Helping Other People Excel. Giving H.O.P.E. is my purpose. This is one thing I've realized over time, in pursuit of happiness, that helping others achieve their goals is my ultimate calling. On a regular basis, I let my two sons, aged thirteen and three see the importance of always giving a hand to others and sharing what they have with others no matter how little they have. I've been married for almost fifteen years to my hardworking wife, Selinah who's a serial entrepreneur by nature. We are expecting our third son in the late fall of 2018.
