Making daily progress creating content
I am on Course 2, lesson 2. This is the part where I need to build content on my website. I am new to all of this so I have to learn how to navigate word press at the same time that I am creating content. Wow, that's a lot of work. How am I going to get through this. I am sure that this is the same place where I stopped in past online business attempts. However, in the past, I did not have very good training tools or a community like WA. I have been reading the live chat and posts and I can see that other members talk about procrastination and motivation.
When I worked for a corporation, it was my job to create spreadsheets and track expenses. I also had accounting duties, shipping and invoicing and I kept track of inventory, all using computer programs. I was not the boss. I had four people over me that put memo's in my inbox every time they had a task for me. I worked diligently to complete each task in a timely manner because I wanted to move up in the company and earn more money. There was so much petty bickering and office politics going on that I did not stand a chance in getting the promotion that I wanted even though I did excellent work. That's why I'm here now and on lesson 2-2 (building my website and creating content). Oh yea, and wondering how I'm going to get through this and on to driving traffic and monetizing the website so I can make a living. Here is what I am doing to get over this hurdle:
I am not an employee anymore. I am the BOSS. I am the CEO. But, I am also the only person in the organization and I perform every task. Then, something occurred to me. Every morning, when I start working on my business, I get a pad of paper and write down each task that needs to get done for the day (wearing my CEO hat). Then I put those pieces of paper in my inbox at my desk where I am the only "employee". I complete each task, sign off on it and put it in my out box. This way I can compartmentalize my work and be accountable to the CEO (me) separately. I always told people that if I could work half as hard for myself as I do other people I would be a millionaire. Well, here's my chance. And here's your chance too. I hope this helped someone.

Great post. It is exactly a reflection of my situation. Been out of Corporate world since Nov 2014. No more personal assistant or subordinates to tackle the daily routine tasks. Your post has inspired me to work on a daily routine that makes sense.
Keep the good blogs coming.

Hi Thomas,
What you're saying really resonated me. I work full time in administration and I'm really good at my job. I keep a little A5 "To Do List" book everyday to help me work through as many tasks as possible and prioritise my work.
I've only just started applying this strategy to my life as well and could really see how this would work with WA. You've inspired me! Thank you!
All the best
Katia :)
Thanks Katia.
