Moving Along Like a Rabbit & A Turtle?

Yep; it 'a true. I feel like a rabbit and a turtle at the same time! It probably makes no sense. Here is what I mean. I just finished the second course. I have a functioning web site, and the pace of my posting activity is accelarating. That's the rabbit in me. The turtle looks around and says..... Oh you have a long way to go; oh, you don't know the answer to that question; oh, you really don't know what you are doing... Better stick your head back in your shell.

So, I just plod along. Take another lesson. Follow the instructions. I remember that scene from Forest Gump when he went into the military and the drill instructor said something to the effect that he was a genius.....he just followed instructions.....

.....not something I have been that good at all my life, but really sticking too it here st WA and it works!

I can relate to this Robert! But I think of it more like the ups & downs, "I am going really well" followed by the "I'm wasting my time, this will never work"!

It's what Melody calls the WA shuffle!

LOL, great post and you are not the only one who feels like that sometimes. I am learning to discipline myself thanks to WA.

Yup, yup, been there, done it! Hang in and keep moving forward. Bit by bit counts too. You're doing great. Best regards.

Saw a great quote the other day; might have been in WA for all that my memory is worth; from Abe Lincoln.....paraphrasing...If I had eight hours to cut down a tree, I'd spend 6 hours sharpening my axe......

The application to WA is that the upfront work (the axe sharpening) is doing the work...lesson by lesson...course by course. Maybe it seems tedious to some. Where are the results? Soon enough though, cries of "timber" will be heard.....

We call it ... doin' the WA Shuffle ... Up one minute - down the next ... two steps forward - one step back! It's a dance ... relax and go with the beat! M

Great job! it's nice to know you're doing something out of your comfort zone. I too had to do stuff out of my comfort zone and I'm glad I did. Keep doing what you're doing and it will pay off. :) All the best!

I don't really have a problem getting out of my comfort zone: I did live outside of the USA f\or quite a few years, and in places that at times could get let's just say...interesting....LOL!

Oh i'm sorry I miss understood you, I thought you said following instructions was not something that you were'n't good at. I took as though you're use to leading and being the instructor. Sorry!

No need to apologize. Sometimes I follow instructions..sometimes not...I'd say I am very uncommitted when it comes to speed limit instructions.....LOL!

Ok Bob, go to a mirror. Now, mess up your hair, yes hair. OK, now, do not comb it for at least an hour, and don't hide either. If others see you it's ok. After an hour look in the mirror again. Now, what do you see? You'll see a guy that lived outside his comfort zone (shell) for an hour.
Go of it Bob, I know you can do it.

I know; you are jealous of my hair...LOL! And full disclosure...IT IS real...no hair pieces....no plugs.....I just have a full head of hair. Thta is what God gave me! Can't sing. cant dance, cant play the drums, but have a full head of hair!

Ok, maybe just a little, cause I have so lithe hair. But, I really was trying to get you to think outside the box, I mean shell for just a bit. Good Luck and will be looking for you to post your website address.

I know what you mean, I look at everything I don't know and I say, "Oh No!" and then I look back at all I've learned and started to build and I say, "Oh Yeah!" Then it's on to the next Lessons.

Hi Robert! -

Love the post!

You are doing extremely well - keep it up!

Slow and Steady wins this race! :)

** Have A Great Productive Day - Robert! **

David

And remember Rome wasn't built in a day...but they were laying bricks everyday!

Yes, it DOES work!!! I have to stay away from "turtle vision," too. Just keep moving forward. The pace doesn't matter; it's the direction. My nickel.
