I'm Getting In The Way Of Myself
I've never been one to draw attention to myself so writing my first entry on WA is a challenge. The same applies to my first website. It's up and running and will soon make it's way over to a .com but it's just a skeleton right now. I'm having anxiety about posting my first entry there too. Posting on social media or even replying in comments sections takes a lot of energy out of me. It reminds me of the saying "get out of your own way". I read today that Kyle recommends exercising prior to posting content. I agree. I took up mountain biking just over a month ago and I can tell you that it does help overcome anxiety and timidness. The problem at this very moment is, I got home from work a couple of hours ago and I'm tired. This morning's bike ride felt great. I should have written something then.
Aside from content, one thing I'm struggling with now as a beginner is second guessing my first website subject. It's an advice and informational website pertaining to my profession. I'm not sure how to incorporate marketing WA on it or if I should build another site to market WA.
Thank you for taking time to read this initial post. I hope to "get out of my own way" soon and post more personal experiences regarding affiliate marketing and website building as well as contribute to the success of others on WA.
Good night.
Bill

Hi Trey,
I certainly can understand the anxiety you must be feeling,
Many of us go through that at first but, it gets easier as you move forward.
Don't be worried about perfection because you will improve with practice and can go back later at some point and update your older posts.
Also, you didn't mention what your profession is but, if you are promoting WA, then you would be in the making money online or work from home etc niche
If your profession is totally unrelated, it's better to start with one or the other and then you can start a second site several months down the road when you are ready to do another,
Good luck to you
Sometimes I do the superman pose before I write something! Haha, I know that sounds a bit off, but it really is a proven tactic to feel empowered. I call it the superwoman pose though :)) Also, I have read an affirmation once that said something along the lines of "I always write with clarity and I always tell a good story that others want to read." That would be something to try. Good Luck to You!

Thanks for the advice Kara! Both are great suggestions. It seems like whenever I think of something to write about, I'm not in a position to jot it down. Bill
Send yourself a text! Make the time. This is important. I really struggled with some of the same things. I bought a 5 subject notebook and keep a running list of ideas. Once you have keyword lists you can then generate content from those as well. I know that I have forgotten some of my ideas along the way, because many times as they come to me I am working, like in the hospital as a nurse ;)) but I would tell a colleague if I could and then write them in my notebook when I had a moment. By the way... my colleagues are pretty tired of hearing about my blog! Hahaha

Hi Bill, as Nike say, 'just do it'. Don't expect perfection for your first few posts, just getting content on the site is the important thing at the moment. You can always go back in later and add to the content. It does become easier with practice and if you fall down, get back on the bike which is WA! :)
