Are You A Guru
Anybody who has spent any time in Internet Marketing will have read or heard the word Guru many times, but what does it actually mean. The first time I remember hearing it was in the sixties, when the Beatles were going to India for Transcendental Meditation and a Guru was a kind of spiritual guide.
How times have changed, because today's Guru's in many cases are anything but spiritual, and the only thing they will lead you to is disappointment, a lighter wallet, and a feeling that you have been let down yet again. This has to be the only industry where anybody can set themselves up as a leader and teacher, without ever having achieved any success in that field themselves, and masking the fact with smoke and mirrors, and a friend who is competent in Photoshop.
The problem that can then arise is that if the information you have just learnt is not totally correct, and in many cases unfortunately this happens, it can and does set you up to fail, and then it is difficult for you to work out why. This is why a set-up like Wealthy Affiliate is so good, because it takes you through the whole process, from newbie to competent marketeer.
I have been in IM for a few years and built some decent sites with original content, but not made any money. I have a weight loss site which has been running for over three years now, and has a good following, but it is an information only site, to help overweight diabetics like myself. Now I am getting to the point I want to make and that is, it wasn't until I watched the All In One SEO video here, did I realize that I had been making a fundamental mistake in setting up the SEO, and how much has that cost me over the years, a lot of disappointment that's for sure...
