My settings don't look like this. Is there any 2017 information on this? I don't know what needs to be on, off, deleted, activated. By default it didn't even show the "keyword comma separated" box. Just the title and description box. But now I'm seeing you don't even need to fill these out and they will auto fill. Mine don't auto fill. They remain blank even after writing content. Help

Is it necessary to leave my blog title next to post/page titles when naming them? It makes it difficult for me to type in keyword titles
Reply

It's there as a default but you don't have to keep it that way. Personally I just have the post title show up in the snippet.
Reply
BPerrodin Premium
Thanks for answering my question. But can I ask what you mean by "snippet"?
Reply
ericcantu Premium
The snippet is the title and description that shows up on google search results. For example if you make a post titled "Batman is awesome", the default snippet will show "Batman is awesome | Your Blog's Title Here" followed by a short description. I usually just have it show the post title and description and leave out the blog title so I can have room for a longer post title and attention getter.

Yes notifications in WordPress don't look like that anymore, since version 3.8 don't stress, just head over to the all in one page and go through the settings as instructed. And as an update, this plugin has had major updates since this tutorial was published, you now can enable sitemaps, and social meta data, as well as an import export feature. You will find those options under Feature manager in the all in one tab.

How can I install it on it?
Reply
judebanks Premium
Follow these steps to install the All in one SEO plugin, or any
other plugin for that matter:

1. In the left menu, go to Plugins > Add New
2. Under Search, type in - All in One SEO
3. Select the plugin from the list
4. Click "Install Now".
5. A pop up window will ask you to confirm
6. Click Proceed to continue
7. Message will say if it is successful
8. If Successful, click Activate Plugin to activate it.

It is faster and easier than the above steps make it appear.

Then follow Kyle's training above to set up the plugin.

Hi Friends, I have added the All in One SEO Pack & added the keywords, titles etc. Do i need to add the keyword, metatags, titles, descriptions on every post individually as well or should i leave em blank?
Reply
mrsljc0909 Premium
You can leave them blank. But, you'll want to look at the page title and description once you save the draft post. The SEO description will use the first 160 characters (not words) of your post. If you can't clearly see what the post is about, I would suggest editing the description. The easier it is to see what the post is about, the better. You can also leave the meta tags blank, although I enter in a few keywords in there.

I have seen a lot of varying opinions on this, but when I went to http://seositecheckup.com/ - I found a lot of SEO errors when I left these items blank. So, in turn, I started entering these items in.
Sorry, I got a like wordy here, I hope this helps.

Kyle - with the recent Panda 2.0 update, is using this All in One SEO plugin (or any SEO plugin) still okay?

I wonder if using SEO plugins makes a site look like it is over-optimizing.

I have read both the pros and cons of using SEO plug-ins. Some people swear they are not necessary at all and others say the complete opposite. Just wondering how this goes concerning Google and their endless updates.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Absolutely OK, there is nothing over optimizing about it. It just gives you the correct tags within your back-end code, which is completely fine. Beyond this, I don't use any tools for SEO other than ones to find keywords, which I use Jaaxy.com (or the keyword tool here at WA for).

Hello, I have some questions.... What is meta tags? What purpose it serves?

I don't understand the following (from page 4), please help: -

Description and Keyword Meta Tags

The next thing that has been optimized is the description and keyword meta tags, also pulled directly from the settings page. These are optimized based on a per page/post basis on the "tags" that you add along with any manual tags that you enter within the pages.

You can see examples of these "meta tags" being inserted directly into the code. These help Google recognize what your content is about and how they show your content within their search results.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Meta tags are used by Google. They give Google information about your website, for example you can define your "title" of your page, so when Google displays your web page within their search, they will use this meta tag as your title.

When you set-up all in one SEO, you just need to set it up initially and then it is taken care of for you after that (the meta tags).

I just found out about WA a little over a day ago and I feel like I've found a great home. I plan to upgrade to Premium, but I have a question:
A few weeks ago I found a niche and have become an affiliate. I have purchased a domain name and have had it hosted on HostGator, and have already begun setting up WordPress. But I really am a newbie and I would like to follow WA training as closely as possible.
Would it make sense to move my hosting to WA (and how do I do that?) And how do I bring my WordPress page with me? Or should I scrap it and start again with WA's WordPress setup. My site is "up" but there is nothing on it, and I have no posts or pages on WordPress other than the blank boilerplate. I am paying HostGator by the month so there would be no monetary loss in changing over. I'm just not sure of the process.
Reply
michA3LMj Premium
Hi tulsasam, nice to meet you here. I joined premium just few days ago. About your question, if I were you, I would cancel my HostGator account and just use WA hosting. With WA premium, since the hosting is included, I would not want to pay some more cost per month to Hostgator because I can use hosting account here.
And for your wordpress page, since you have not yet post anything yet. You can just scrap it I guess. Because setting up again following the steps here will not take a long time. I feel I am much more efficient when following Kyle's instruction, and I believe you will too.
Hope this help mate. Cheers...:-)

The keyword meta tag field doesn't mean much, it is actually a waste of time to invest to much energy into the keyword field. Over optimizing typically takes place within the actual content, but yes, if you get too crazy when creating the title and description tags you can definitely over-optimize.

Hey Anden....One reaction I see quite often with new people to Internet Marketing is...they get stuck and then they obsess over the step they are stuck on.

When you get stuck on a step try to figure it out (which you have)...and ask questions here at WA (which you have). But until you get the help you need just move on to the next step...

Keep working on your site...Nothing will explode and blow up your site if you don't get a particular step done properly. Just keep moving forward...Don't get stuck and waste hours or DAYS with a step or even two...Worst case scenario write all your content for your site...go ahead and put it in your site...keep adding pages/posts....MOVE Forward.

Now to answer your question...Kyle/Carson will be coming out with the updated tutorial on "The New All In One SEO Pack" It will be out soon.

Here is Kyle's answer to me about the same question:

"It has changed, I will be updating this shortly. You can disregard all of this stuff though and leave it as the default, you do not need to modify it. Just make sure the plugin is active and that you have updated the home title and description and you will be good to go."

So Activate the plug in and move on....or if you can't get it activated... MOVE ON, keep building....

Hi Kyle,

Great post I guess you find it frustrating when these programs change their interface and settings etc. :-)

I am just setting up a new blog and am not totally familiar with the new layout, so I have a couple of questions for you.

Option "Use Original Title" I presume we leave this "Disabled" so that it will use what ever we put in the "Home Title Field"?

What is the maximum number of characters you recommend to use here? I'm going after long tail keywords. Does it really matter how many? I would like to use 86 characters.

Also is there a recommended maximum number of characters now for "Home Description"? They used to have a character counter before.

I would target the "domain name" of your website within the Title. All of the other pages are going to be done for you automatically (the benefit of this plugin), so I would just create a catchy headline that includes the terms that are within your domain.

Keyword meta tags don't do anything, so the more time you waste adding keywords is wasted time in my opinion. So add a couple if you want that are relevant to your site, but beyond that don't bother. Definitely don't add these manually for each page on your site.

Hi Kyle, How do you cover up the affiliate URLs and put in a space where people leave their e-mails.

You can cloak your affiliate links using a plugin called:

Pretty Link

Search and install this. To capture email addresses, you need an autoresponder (a paid service) like Aweber.com

Hi Kyle I can't activate my All In One SEO Pack. Its not in settings when I checked the drop down. What will I do? Thanks mate.

You will find it within the Plugins tab, click that and you will see it within your Plugins there.

If you click on settings (as per next instruction) All In One SEO Pack is not there in the drop down even if I activate it.

You will see it right under the Dashboard item within the menu after you have activated it. See the 3rd page in this tutorial as I reference the new look there.

I know that it has to be an overwhelming job to keep up with software updates but SEO has a new look and there are some things on it that I don't understand. Will you be upgrading this lesson soon?

I have updated to show where the new menu location is if you have the latest version of the plugin.

Thanks for your response. I found the location for the settings but I don't know what all the new additional settings are for.

It is located close to the top when you have the dashboard opened, you should have it near the top. You need to update All in one SEO to have this appear under your dashboard. I lost mine totally and had to re-install it.

Hello, I'm so stuck on this. I can't get onto the setting up SEO page. I've had trouble all evening trying to get it to activate but kept getting a message saying I didn't have permission and now I can't find the screen capture that you've got here. Thanks x

Once we've setup the All in One SEO Plugin & entered the details on the settings page..

Can anyone clarify what the purpose & benefits of filling out the Title, Description & Keywords sections of the "All in One SEO Pack" box when creating new posts or pages?

Appreciate any guidance & recommendations anyone would care to offer about this.. thx ~)

This will be the title and description of your home page (root of your website).

yourwebsite.com

So that will be the description for that page when it gets indexed in Google. The other pages will automatically be created with the All in One Settings (based on the page/post titles).

Kyle, I get that about entering the title & description in the SEO plugin settings for the home page..
But when i create a new page or post i notice the same fields appear below to be filled out.. are you saying that i should leave the Title & Description sections blank within the new posts & pages that are created?

And one other question while i've got your attention Kyle :) .. what about the Tag box? Is there any benefit in adding tags for each new page or post?

Thx again for your responses.. learning a heap! ~)
