The video you are watching is made with plenty of errors. In fact such a video is never going to get the kind of interest it should due to many problems that exist. Can you find the problems here in this training?
Here in this short video, see if you an pick out the one dozens or so flaws that makes this presentation a problem instead of a solution.
List the problems you see or hear, by numbering them within comments section.
Also watch video number #2, where I point out several issues regarding the original video presentation. A must see...for anyone shooting video.
Anyone interested in doing videos should enjoy this quick training on what works and what doesn't. Let me know if you find anything that is really working here!
Rick
So far the feedback shows very little working with the video presentation. Unless someone is sleep deprived! :)
There is just too much crap in the background.
Honestly, I am curious to hear the other six items you feel are errors.
I agree it is amateur, you are fidgety and the audio is up and down (maybe that is one of the six), but don't be too hard on yourself because what I do like about it is that your sincerity shines through all of the technical shortcomings. That counts for a lot.
Videos for any of us will take plenty of practice!....to learn the technical tricks, to gain self confidence, to not read from a script, etc....
1) Not only was the WA screen up (which we notice but, not all would it's neither here nor there until it's changed in the middle of the intro.
It's irrelevant what website is up during the "intro."
2) Speaking of intro? Is this one? I started to nod off so I'm not even sure if this ramble-on speech even has a point....nope..I watched the entire thing for "challenge" purposes plus, Rick is a cool guy : )
3) This type of long-winded intro is reminiscent of the late 80's and 90's tutorials. Most of which are almost to antique status.
4) It's great to have an outline about what you are speaking about but, you don't need a script.
It's an instead turn-off switch for me if I hear scripted speech. Sure, you can mention your businesses name but, you better make it short and sweet and get to the point...and then get straight into why it's 'worth my time to listen/watch you.'
5) Now, for the nit-picking.
On top of the "wrong" screen being up. What is this purpose of that camera angle at all?
Do you want the focus on the stuff around your office? Your website? Or, you?
Any, great speech teacher will also note instantly the poor use of props *giggles.*
Ps. The fiddling with the glasses in the beginning too...ha golden...it was like Mr. Rogers pretending that we just found him by chance instead of turning the dial directly to his channel O_o
6) If you MUST have a script to feel more comfortable fine but, like any written essay, you don't say things like "LET Me just say..." JUST SAY it!
7) Wayyyy too much information for a beginners standpoint. 3/4's of the things being mentioned would not even register on a newbies map.
8) Okay Rick, I'll stop there *grinn*
I can't wait to watch the second video.
This is a great perspective study! Oh, and I'm digging that T-Shirt : )
