Spam

Sometimes you'll get weird comments on your website. If you have any doubt about the legitimacy of a comment, always ask the community for advice. And trust your instincts. If a comment feels weird, it probably is spam.

Then if you are using the askimet plugin (update WA is not using Askimet anymore but spamshield. See Kyle's post here : https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle/blog/akismet-...) recommended at an early stage of the training by Kyle, almost all spam will be directly put aside and you'll just have to delete them.

But here are a few tips to determine whether a comment is spam or not :

- You do not understand what the link between the person's comment and your post is

- The person seems to have posted a comment only to insert a promotional link(very annoying lol)

- You have a strange feeling about the person's name, email address and the site they have entered as their own website. Sometimes when you click on a link that is supposedly the person's website it will take you to a blank page or a phantom profile.

- Any comment that at first seems suspicious to you should not be validated. Avoid clicking on any links. Instead, ask Wealthy Affiliate members to take a look at it first (at the comment, not the link lol) ! Spam comments are useless, they do not help your ranking on search engines!

Oh and of course you don't want to spam other members of Wealthy Affiliate in your comments but I don't think anyone within the community would do that because that's simply not the spirit! =)
