PAGE 1 – The WA Affiliate Program

PAGE 2 – Understanding the “My Stats” screen – Detailed Stats

PAGE 3 – Understanding Affiliate Link Detailed Stats Categories

PAGE 4 – Earning Money from WA Affiliate Links

Though this training will benefit those doing Boot Camp more so than others, it is still important for ALL members to understand this because you do not have to be in Boot Camp to use it. In this training I will be explaining what your Affiliate Program Stats mean.

WA AFFILIATE PROGRAM PAGE

All of us here have the ability to make extra money from WA in addition to that which we make from our websites. This can be accomplished by sharing our WA affiliate links associated with every blog and training tutorial here within the community. I explain how to do this on both pages 3 and 4 of the training link below.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/wealthy-a...

However if you should want to find your personal WA affiliate link to the WA Home Page, the easiest place to find it is at the top of the WA Affiliate Program Page as seen in the image above. You can access this page by clicking the black & white airplane icon to the immediate right of the question bar at the top of the screen. Just above your affiliate link are 6 tabs.

  • The “Program Details” are the current page you are on
  • “My Stats” will be explained in the remainder of this training
  • “My Referrals” will show you a list of everyone who you have referred to WA
  • “Links & Tracking” contain the different types of WA affiliate links available to you plus ways that you can track them
  • “Messages” are the messages that you can create that will be sent to your referrals shortly after they join WA
  • And “Banners” contain all kinds of WA banner ads you can use on your website

NEXT UP = Detailed Stats of the “My Stats” screen

Thank you, for sharing this information. I wish everyone could see this training. I guess, I need to start by sharing it myself.

I kind of knew our WA blog space was important but, wasn't sure. I need to start blogging more. Coming up with different topics is the hardest part for me. However, I know I'll figure something out eventually.

This article is very detailed. I never understood what the clicks stood for but, now I know how to properly read my stats. Thanks, Robert, you're articles are always helpful.

Thank you Robert for this training that continues to help WA members. I'm new and had a spike in unique clicks and that led me finally to your training. I am very excited to learn this info. I clearly didn't understand it before and will take advantage of continued WA Blogging, sharing other's WA content with Affiliate links and sharing my own WA blogs which I never even considered before on top of adding new content always for my site... WOW!

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much Rob.
I have always wondered what the difference was between 'raw' and 'unique' clicks were and always thought that 'raw' must have been the better one. Thanks to you I have now learned that through the plus sign, which I have never clicked before, I can actually change what displays on my stats chart and have turned raw clicks off. I've added this to my favourites. Hitting myself on the forehead with a "Duh". Keep up your amazing training.

Hi Robert, I would appreciate very much please clarify following to me.

I get referrals though:

Entrance point & Campaign:

1.WA Website v2.1 Top
2.Website Join
3.WA Website v2.1 Bottom
4.Default Create Account Modal

I don't know what they mean. I read your tutorial but it seems that they are different now.

Regards,
Alex
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Yes Alex, a few of the Entrance Point Details have changed since the last WA website update. For example, Default Create Account Modal is now called WA Website v2.1 Bottom.

Meaning of Entrance Point Details from above

1. WA Website v2.1 Top = The join form at the top of the WA affiliate home page link

2. Website Join = When people join from a WA banner on your website

3. WA Website v2.1 Bottom = The join form at the bottom of the WA affiliate home page link

4. Default Create Account Modal = The same as number 3 above

So content clicks track click that come from your content right? is it also unique?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Yes, but it comes from the clicks of the content you write here within WA, like your blogs and question discussions.

These clicks can come from other WA members and also from people outside of WA that may come across your content in a Google search.

Yes, some of these content clicks can be unique clicks as well but unique clicks are counted once and mostly from people outside of WA.

Yeh thanks.
Just a quick update on my referals...I got 7 in total for the first time in one day 05/12/17 - I tried a paid CPM network that I had forgotten I joined back some years ago and used $12 from my paypal account, I ordered 7000 worldwide . Got over 6000 + to my affiliate link. But after seeing them join they all looked like fake joiners..no pics..no..comments not a hello...no bio...no nothing...it kind of got my blood boiling.
But I see its just a lesson again...got to be careful.
I know these referals aren't going anywhere now.

But again thanks because I understand the graph better now.
If you have any experience with a paid CPM network let me know.

Best of success to you.

Can the payout threshold be changed later?

Can it be raised/lowered multiple times?

Thanks, Robert!

I asked because I was finally filling in my affiliate stuff and was nervous about choosing a payout threshold.

Choose low and have small amounts of steady income, but more paperwork? Choose high and get big lump-sum payments? A longer wait between payments, but less paperwork.

I REALLY hate paperwork, lol.

Besides, I don't trust PayPal. It would be easier to keep track of bigger, less frequent payments and get them out of PayPal's clutches quickly.

It took me a full day, but I decided on $25. More paperwork and more worry about PayPal snatching my money but, when in doubt, follow the expert's lead, right? :)

As for changing the amount multiple times, that was another question based on indecision. What if I changed my mind later - and possibly again some time after that?

I don't know what will work best for me over the next 2 or 3 or 10 years and didn't want to be "locked in" to something that was no longer ideal.

But, like I said, I finally did make a decision. Once I did, the update button was still there, so I know I'll be able to change the payout threshold at least once.

It's funny, isn't it, how the smallest things can confound us sometimes? And, what one person has no trouble with, another person will?

Thanks for you help, Robert. I appreciate it.

that is what your affiliate link is for - you can share your own content here on WA, and those posts that have affiliate links, which directs people back here.
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Everything created here at WA has an affiliate link associated to it. All you need to do is share that affiliate link on your website, social media or in an email. If any non-member clicks on it they will be sent to WA and you will get referral credits for anyone who decides to join. These referral credits are equal to money for you.

Another way to get referrals that doesn't require you to share your affiliate link is if someone joins by reading one of your WA Blogs. All of our WA Blogs get indexed into Google just like our website content. All WA Blogs can be seen by everyone on the internet, not just people within WA.

To learn more about how much you can make for each referral who completes their account set up and goes on to be premium, click the link below.

Hey Robert,
I am a little confused here.
So let's say I tweeted the link with my content that I posted on WA, and let's say 40 clicked on the link. They would appear under the category of "Clicks (content)", right?
But then, I am pretty sure that none of my twitter followers is part of WA community then why the clicks wouldn't be "unique"?
Do you know what I mean?
Thanks in advance!
Zarina
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
The Twitter clicks would be "unique". Only WA members would be "content"
Reply
Zarina Premium
I get like 25 clicks on content right after I post them on Twitter. But they are not unique :/
Also, didn't I hear that people can see our blog posts from search engines as well?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
You get 25 clicks on content right after posting on Twitter? That seems odd. I must check that out myself.

Yes, WA blogs can appear in search results if it is relevant to the keyword used in the search engine query.

I think it might be that same people clicked on the link for the second time, then they wouldn't be unique anymore. That's my best guess.

@Boomergp08, I have a question, Yesterday I brought in 38 click (unique) to the homepage of wealthy affiliate , but none of them sign up the free account ! I pretty sad ! I wondering why people click in from some ads i created , but not signing up .

So , I'm here to ask you, normally for 100 unique click , how many people sign-up , based on your statistic . thx very much ..
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
First off are you sure the unique clicks were only to the WA home page? If anyone outside of WA clicks on any of your WA blogs that they see in Google, that too will count as a unique click.

As for why you did not get any sign ups, it is something that happens often. Some people may come to the home page and change their mind. Others may come to the home page, scroll down and read what WA is about and decided they are not interested.

There is no real percentage as to how many unique clicks will become referrals. I have had days where I have had as much as 233 unique clicks and only 1 referral. Then I have had as little as 18 unique clicks and got 4 referrals.

It is not an easy thing to promote when the internet is so saurated with make money from home offers and with many of them scams. You just have to keep trying every single day and use more ways than just the WA home page to get your referrals.

Hey, Robert! Thanks so much for this info! Very good tutorial!

I'm glad I found it this morning for two reasons! First, I need all the help I can get! Second, I followed your tutorial and just went to check my,"Unique Clicks," and found that there were four!

I just put some posts up on social media from my site about three days ago, exactly when the clicks started coming!

I know this is not much and no one has joined WA from it, but it is real exciting for me, seeing someone checking my WA affiliate links for the first time!

Thanks, again!
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Everyone has to start at some point Donnie and everyone always starts out with a small amount of clicks. The more followers outside of WA you get on social media and the more you share your links, the more clicks you will get.

Obviously that doesn't mean you will get sales from those clicks but you are getting exposure. The more exposure you get, the more followers you may get and thus clicks and maybe conversions.

Like Kyle has said in his training, the work you do now and going forward has a cumulative effect. I like to call it the rolling snowball effect. :)

Thanks for this post it's very helpful.

For one of my referals, under the tracking part, it is blank. So I don't know where that sale came from. Is this common?

Second thing, I fully understand what Clicks(raw) and Clicks(unique) mean after reading this post. Thanks for that.

What I'm still unclear on is the Clicks(content). Can you explain that a little more please?

Cheers,

Robert
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Clicks(Content) are the amount of raw clicks your WA content (blogs, questions,...) get from people here at WA and from those who see it from Google.

As for the blank referral, this does happen often, especially if the referral joins from a WA Blog or Discussion you have created. If you scroll down to the "Entrance Details" it will tell you where your referral joined WA from.

Default Create Account Modal is the join form all the way at the bottom of the WA Home Page.

Guest User Modal is the join pop up that appears after 15 seconds on all WA created content that a non-member reads.

There is a way for you to somewhat determine if the click is coming from outside WA, by selecting Clicks Content. These clicks are coming from people who see your WA blogs in the search engines or on social media.

I haven't done Bootcamp training yet, but I'm getting close to launching. I've been getting so many "Please Welcome My New Referral" requests lately I would have thought there was a statistic kept for this.

I'm not convinced this is a productive tactic. It doesn't sound like something Kyle would recommend, and I can't wait to see if this matter is addressed in Bootcamp training.
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
The "Please Welcome My New Referral" is NOT taught in Boot Camp. I too have noticed a rash these posts lately. It always amazes me how when one person starts a process good or bad, how it tends to snowball and more people start doing it.

I can see maybe sending it out if the referral is having trouble reaching out to others, but I don't see it as a benefit or a loss. Like many of the veteran affiliates, I do not do it.

My website is extremely primitive. I am showing very few if any Unique clicks. What is really strange is there are almost Never any Raw clicks. So where are the Content clicks coming from?
Usually the Content clicks are in the single digits. But they have hit double digits once in a great while.
Part of my problem is, I have had to be away from WA to be with Mom (Elderly and disabled) most of my "free(?)" time.
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Hi Edie,

The Content Clicks are coming from your WA Blog posts. But yes, the reason your Unique Clicks are low is because your website is not yet fully developed with many pages and posts of content. You need at total of at least 12-14 pages/posts before Google really starts to take notice of your site and push up your rankings and thus get you more traffic.
Reply
eeohome Premium
Thank you for helping me understand! So Are people within WA clicking on my WA blogs pushing the Content clicks up? Or are people outside of WA somehow finding my blogs?
I know these are probably "No Brainer" questions but that is where I am.
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
You are welcome Edie. It is most likely people within WA clicking on your blogs but it could also be some people from outside WA because our WA blogs get indexed into Google.

Thank you. I recall I had a lots of Raw and Unique clicks before I got my website. Almost makes me want to scratch my website!

Why were my stats so much higher before I had a website?
Reply

You have to remember that ALL of your WA Blogs and Discussions get clicks. The clicks do not just come from your website content. A lot of them come from your WA Blogs and Discussions because every one of those are considered your personal affiliate links. This means that you do not have to have a website to get clicks.

You can gain these when you create both a Site Rubix Affiliate Link and when you create custom affiliate links on the Links & Tracking page.
