If you didn’t know already, getting organic engaging comments on your content is important for three reasons. Authority, Word Count and Rankings. All three of these will eventually help to drive more traffic to your website pages and posts. Let me briefly explain each one.
AUTHORITY = When you write in depth and informative content, it gets people to interact with your article. The more comment interaction your content gets, the more Google sees it as content that people will engage with. This in turn boosts authority in the eyes of Google.
WORD COUNT = It has been known for some time that the more words your content has, the more likely it will rank higher. Statistics show content of at least 2,000 words will rank highest. If you have comments totalling 1,500 words, a 2,000 word post will now be 3,500 words long.
RANKINGS = It is definitely possible to rank well from a keyword mentioned in your comments. This can happen when either a person leaving you a comment mentions this keyword or you do so in your reply. The below search result image of yet a different description is proof of this.
Above you see a Meta Description created by Google when I searched for the keyword “OnPassive Soft Launch” without quotes. This particular keyword is not mentioned anywhere in my content. However it is mentioned twice in my comment reply, see below image.
WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?
If you have the All In One SEO Pack plugin and Autogenerate Description setting enabled, the plugin will automatically create your Meta Description from the first 155-160 character spaces of your content. If the setting is not enabled, you will have to type the Meta Description yourself.
Regardless of whether the All In One creates the description or you do, it is Google and the other search engines that determine which description is shown in the search results based on the particular keyword query. This is a good thing because you can rank for different keywords.
Always make your Meta Description about what's really in your content so you can entice the person searching Google to click your link. Capture them with your page or post title containing your keyword and get them to click through on your post with a captivating description.

How To Use Keywords For Your Website
What To Do With The Meta Tags In The All-In-One SEO Pack Plugin
Very useful tutorial, thank you!
One question I have regarding Meta Title - Is it okay to change or add to the visual title after publishing (leaving the Meta Title unchanged)? An example of this would be "Best........for 2020" where I might change it to 2021 next year.
I'm particularly concerned with posts that are ranked 1st page on Google , so don't want to ruin the ranking.
Or does WP automatically change the Meta Title?
Great post! I wasn't aware that there was an option to auto-generate a meta description in All In One plugin. So it does really make sense for Google to fill in the meta description.
Each time someone searches for a keyword and lands on your site, a different description shows up in the results. And this helps with ranking?
I'll have to experiment with it. That's what I want. More traffic and clicks! Thank you.
All the best, stay safe!
Peter
The first thing I'll do after reading through your training is to switch on Auto generate. Thank you for your training around this.
I have several sites where my SEO us Yoast, but my gardening site is still with All in One. I had no idea that you could set it to autogenerate.
