Using parent and child pages could serve as a way to organize your pages and improve user experience on your website. To tell you the truth, I don't use them very much, but I'm sure that some people do. If you find that your theme doesn't support custom menus, you can also use these page attributes to create dropdown menus as I show you in this training.

As I said in the video, I don't think this is something that's going to change a lot about how your site works or how well it ranks, but using them could potentially improve user experience and site navigation.

Yup. I know I didn't mess with them for the longest time either. It's only recently that I've started digging, and there's a lot more to wordpress than you might guess!

Very well done; I love simple, understandable tutorials which end by explaining the advantages and reiterating why you did it. Thanks!

Is this akin to "siloing"

It might be. I've heard the term used and am vaguely familiar with what it means. It's true, this is a way to compartmentalize your pages and make them more organized, but I don't think i will bring you many visible results like siloing would do.

Your link structure will change, and if your Wordpress theme doesn't support custom menus, this could be useful, but for most people, most of the time, it's not a pertinent feature and doesn't need to be used much.
