Thanks Harry I will try this again. I think I have another problem that is stopping verification. I went through my SEO all in one settings and still it doesn't verify.

Hi Marty, the only thing I can suggest is you deactivate and delete your current installed SEO plugin and reinstall the All in One SEO plugin if you're using that, then follow the training. Hope this helps.

I have SEO all in one.I am in negotiations with a Fiverr agent and hope that helps. He is working off an SEO site health analyzer to fix some problems. I thought it might be Safari but I tried it with Chrome also.

We'll see???

Thanks for your help.

Anytime Marty, let me know how you get on with the Fiverr. Try Firefox, it's compatible with most things

I have had 2 agents turn me down because the work was too hard.
The last said he could do some of the work but was afraid he couldn't make the timeframe which I had told him to tell me how much time he needed.

I will continue the search.I have the number to a pro outfit from Lipperhey that is not too far from where I live. I will call them Monday but I'm afraid of what they charge.

This last agent was from India and there may have been some communication lost because he spoke broken English.

Talk latter,
Marty

Hi Marty, I know it sounds a silly question, but did you update options after you entered the html tag code in the google webmaster tools box?
Reply
Martstervt Premium
Yes I did Harry and don't worry with me that isn't a silly question.
This sure is a baffling thing and keeps me from progressing.

My site is not getting any searches and I have affiliate agreements with Amazon and Jam play. I have other agreements pending probably because of a low rank.

There is another way to verify by adding a meta tag but I don't understand it.

Hi Marty, just had a look at your Home Page on your Work A Home Internet Business website. There's a whole lot of code in green above the On Line Business Opportunity heading that shouldn't be there. Go to your text editor of your home page and see if it's there.
If it is copy it into Notepad or Word before deleting it. Refresh the page and see what happens. You can always copy and paste it back if it affects your site. Let me know what happens.

Thanks Harry I'll try to get to it. I don't know where I pick up all that code. Oh I think I just added it thinking it was for page ID. I think I can just delete it.

I got rid of the code. I tried to indent the lettered list and every time I hit update it goes back in line with the numbers. I don't know if it's word press, my Mac,or me.. I try to copy and paste ads from Jam Play and the won't paste or it will just paste code.

I had some success using Chrome and will do my site work with Chrome but Chrome messes me up with my email. So I do email
with Safari.

Hi Marty, have you tried verifying you site now you have got rid of the code. The HTML Tag code should be placed on your home page under <head> and before <body>, which your SEO plugin does automatically. The code you have just deleted may have been preventing the HTML code from being placed there. Just a thought.
With regards to your ordered list <ol>, provided you are using the tags <li> and </li> correctly there shouldn't be any problem, HTML is compatible with most O/S, including Mac and WordPress.
After you have opened the list with <ol>, or <ul> if you want bullet points, you need to place the <li> tag at the start and </li> at the end of every new numbered paragraph. Once you have completed your list, insert </ol> after the last </li>. Try Firefox as your browser, pretty much compatible with everything.
Not sure about Jam Play, try copying and pasting the code into your text editor and see what happens.
You may also try right clicking on the ad, click on "save image as", and place it in whatever folder you use for images and graphics. Click on Add Media in your visual or text editor and go through the normal procedure to add it to your site, just make sure it's not copyright protected. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks Harry can't get to it till tonight or tomorrow.

Are you saying to put those codes in when I do the text in the editor?

Harry, Tim of Tim's products did a video training and I followed it. I still had to go at it several times but did verify my home building site. The martstervt site still will not verify and it may be some bad code that is stopping verification. I hate to spend so much time on this but i think it needs to done.

I'm going to walk the dogs and take a break but back to it latter.

or rather the question should be "what does verifying your web site with google do

For me, the verification simply confirmed to me that I was doing everything correctly, and that others could see my website…I hope this helps
