Looking Deeper

Okay, so this is the point where we take off the hood to discover the finer details of both YouTube tools.

1 - Search Sidebar

VidIQ and Tubebuddy both have in-built sidebars that help to extend the functions and features of YouTube's sidebar.

You will find useful videos and content information, keyword details, and score, and also related search suggestions on both sidebars. There’s nothing that really sets them apart until you upgrade to the premium versions to discover distinct features about both.

From the sidebar of VidIQ, you will obtain recommendations for further keywords that will enhance your YouTube SEO.

VidIQ offers more details while Tubebuddy gives you a much clearer picture of your video's performance in a search. If you want more features out of your sidebar search, clearly VidIQ is the way to go.

2 - Channel Stats

Both VidIQ and Tubebuddy offer intuitive interfaces for users to view their video stats and performances.

On VidIQ, you will discover such details as a total number of views, subscribers gained, global YouTube ranking, and a number of videos uploaded. You'll be able to view trending videos of your channel, so you can know the type of content that resonates with your audience.

On the other hand, Tubebuddy provides insights that enable you to view and measure the performance of your channel.

3 - Video Analysis

This feature makes it easy for you to access vital information about your videos and that of your competitors.

The details from this feature will help you determine how well you're doing, what your competition is doing better, and what you need to do to improve on your game.

Some of the insights that will be discovered with the Video Analysis tools include video tags social share info, and channel stats. You will also get access to YouTube rankings to help you discover how your videos fare in comparison to your competitors.

VidIQ offers you more detailed stats of your videos and channels while Tubebuddy includes a feature that enables you to copy tags to a tag list.

Which is better for SEO keywords for YT: TubeBuddy or our own Jaaxy Research?

Use TubeBuddy if you are going to make mostly YouTube videos. On the other hand, if you are going to write posts in addition to make YouTube videos, Jaaxy would be your best option as it works fine not only with websites but also with YouTube. Tom

I’ve noticed that Jaaxy will give me good keywords which show on TB to be poor or fair. But the latter doesn’t help me enough with finding better keywords. So I’ve just been using the jaaxy words for my videos

Thanks for asking, JerilynWin! When it comes to optimizing your videos, both tools are helpful, though the former works best for video optimization while the latter works best for content optimization.

If you write articles more than making videos, you made the best decision.

No I've actually switched to my YT channel, posting my vlogs on my website and other social media channels. Still learning TubeBuddy.
