A great theme will not only increase your readership but also help with SEO. It allows you to customize your website in any way you like.
Most premium WordPress themes aren't free. It's sometimes not possible to get the best products for free. It's worth the investment to purchase a theme.
But there are many free WordPress themes, such as Astra, GeneratePress, Blocksy, and Kadence which are a great starting point.

It does give me tonnes of new ideas and current topics on what I should focus on more.
