Step 2: Schedule The Tasks
Remember in the introduction we mentioned the concept of a "time boxed interation of a continuous cycle."
This means we need to STANDARDIZE our WORK BOX into a period we can SPRINT.
It is best to break down this time box into 20 minutes work boxes. We will schedule the tasks we identified in Step 1.
Some of the task may take more than 1 work box to accomplish, so you need to schedule it and also break times in between and other tasks that your need to do as well.
Each Sprint is 20 minutes and you FOCUS and DO AS MUCH AS FAST as you can.
Sprint 1: Research the concept and keyword
5 Minute Break (Take a break, don't think about the work, do something to relax)
Sprint 2: Identify the main points of the article and write breakdown the sections
5 Minute Break
Sprint 3: Find images and resources (references, quotes etc...)
Sprint 4; Write article
5 Minute Break
Sprint 5: Write article
Sprint 6: Format article
5 Minute Break
Sprint 7: Edit article
5 Minute Break
Sprint 8: Review article
Sprint 9: Publish article
Total: 205 minutes or 3 hours 42 minutes.
It use to take me the entire day or 2 days because I take my time and running at a slow pace. This way we create work packages and focus to complete it within the time boxes.
You can schedule the breaks and other work in between as well. It is totally up to you.
This is a method of planning and working within a timed box to complete a specific task.
Now that we have the schedule ready. let's proceed to Step 3.
Thanks for a great article. When I worked for a software development company, when used Sprints and Agile for our development. It never even occurred to me to use it in my personal and professional life. It was always something to only be used in software development.
Thanks for opening my eyes.
