Post Permalink

In your post permalink, make sure you avoid the use of words like (the, an, a). They are referred to as stop words. Many bloggers use these stop words often without knowing that those words are always ignored by search engines.

In case you don’t what permalink is, this is an example:

Post Title: Benefits of Joining Wealthy Affiliate

Post permalink: mysite.com/benefits-of-joining-wealthy-affiliate

The stop word in that title is of. Go ahead and edit the permalink to something like “joining-wealthy-affiliate”. Please don’t make the mistake of editing your permalink after publishing.

Headings

The use of the appropriate heading tags (H1, H2, H3) is one of important things to note when writing a post. If you use an SEO optimized theme you won’t have a problem with heading tags. H1 is used for the post title. While other subheadings takes H2 and H3.

Heading tags when used properly makes your post well optimized for search engines.

Note:you should consider adding your keywords to your heading (H1, H2, H3) tags.
