Use a Professional Theme

Of course, you know it’s usual with newbie bloggers to choose from the pool of free WordPress themes while setting up their blogs. This is obvious in their setups and you can always find that they’re still newbie as they don’t yet have pro blogging experience.

If you’re truly a newbie using a free theme, try upgrading to the pro versions as you journey on in the online world. You wouldn’t want to remain stagnant or a newbie for a long time.

So, upgrading with time will surely change your blogging status and you’ll start gaining credibility from the audience.

Change the look of your blog, use responsive designs and upgrade. It’s true you can’t start a blog in a day and quickly become a pro the same day.

A lot of steps will have been taken. Also, days, weeks and months will have to be leveraged to build it.

Thanks, great advice. The only advice I don´t fully understand, why are professional themes so much better than the free ones? Content is the core of every blog, and the free themes with a simple design work fine for creating content.

Premium (or professional) themes often aren't better - they offer a whole bunch of additional features that might help you to make your site look prettier but offer no real SEO or page speed benefit.

Some premium themes are specifically constructed from the ground-up to offer excellent page speed and readability. Many free themes don't optimize their code bases and linked files for page speed and their readability leaves a lot to be desired.

Having said that, there are some excellent free themes out there, if you're willing to hunt for them.

Ok, thanks for your reply! I think simple themes are best, because they put the emphasis on the content. However, if the professional themes offer better speed and readability, I might try one later.

You're welcome - remember that a lot of professional themes just add bloat to the free version of a theme.

You'll need to specifically search for paid themes that target page speed, SEO, and readability (I realize that this is probably common sense but I felt I should mention it anyway).
