Adding Your WA Affiliate Banner to Your Website Widget
In selecting a banner to place in a widget, I would tend to select a square banner (or a banner that is taller than it is wide) rather than a large, rectangular banner. This way, my banner will be displayed perfectly in proportioned.
For this example, I will choose the banner with dimensions of 350 pixels wide by 350 pixels tall.
You need to go back to the Banners web page to select and copy the HTML code for the banner you choose to use.
Now you will need to log into your WordPress Dashboard, scroll down to Appearance and click on Widgets. From the Available Widgets on the left, you will need to drag and drop a Text widget to your Sidebar on the right.
Now you can click on the down arrow that appears to the right of the Text label of the widget you just dragged and dropped into your sidebar. Be sure you click on the Text tab of your Text widget BEFORE pasting the HTML code for the banner you choose to use, so that your code will work properly.
Now to make certain your banner appears as you want it to, always check your website (#4 in screen print above) to make sure it is displayed correctly. If not, you can make any necessary changes (alignment perhaps) that you want to before you walk away figuring that all is as you want it to be.
Below is a screen print of what my WA widget affiliate banner looks like on my test site.
Thinking out-of-the box: You could also add a banner to your footer widget if you preferred. Depending on the size of your footer widget, this will help you to determine the dimensions of the banner that you would need to use.
