Get Started with a Blank Edit

You can start the creation from scratch in the same way as a PowerPoint. You can add more slides to your video by clicking on the "+" button at the bottom. Clicking on the timer icon above your slides allows you to adjust the length of each slide from 0.1 to 30 secs. It is easy to reorder slides by dragging their thumbnails along the timeline.

You can use Canva's royalty-free images and videos by selecting the "Photos" or the "Videos" tabs. Then, use the search bar for the exact information you need. You will find hundreds of wallpaper-like backgrounds in "Background."

You can add any of these features the same way: Click to select it and it will appear on your slide. You can drag and drop it to reposition it.

Background

Clicking on a background option makes the background for your selected video slide. Select a background from the sidebar.

You can also apply different effects to the background image. Click on "Effects" to see options such as Duotone, Pixelate, and BadTV; click on "Effects." Premium features, which are only available to paid accounts, will be marked by a gold crown icon

Select the video that you wish to make your background video, and it will be added to your slide. To make the video your slide backdrop, right-click on the image, and choose "Replace the background."
