Take Time Out
Taking Time out might seem like an odd starting place to action your goals. However, I believe it is essential, even critical to your success. I encourage you to find a method that suits you and your lifestyle. For example, I prefer short guided meditations whereas I know others find repetitive exercise such as walking or running meditative.
Be honest with yourself - what works for you? Do share in the comments on this training as this encourages and assists us all to see different experiences and perspectives on these ideas.
So why is taking time out so important?
Firstly, you need to have down time, to relax, review and recharge your mind, body and soul. It is during these periods of reflection that often great insights can arise from you because you are not distracted by the usual tasks of the day.
For example, it was when I had taken some time out after the initial frenzied few months as a member here at WA that I realised I was out of balance and a little too distracted by all the connections. I needed to balance that with continuing my own path of learning and implementing and also helping others.
Secondly, you need some 'head space' to look at your goals and check in that they still serve and still are what you want. I like to consider these over a period of a few days at the beginning of the new calendar year and also the new financial year, so every 6 months. (The financial year here in Australia runs from July to June). Then I check each month or 3 months if these goals are still contributing to where I ultimately want to be.
Thirdly, remember the joy is actually in the journey rather than only the destination. Of course achieving goals is great and important. However, guess what happens each time you achieve a goal? You are often inspired to set a new one or tweak or extend the existing one. That's called Human Nature! We are forever evolving shifting and changing, organic beings.
Congrats on delving into the "training" niche.
Your 1st one was well placed.
