Creating a Business Page

Creating a business page is not difficult. But before you begin, you need to design what your page will look like. Once you have made up your mind on what you want, you can take the following steps to start designing your page:

1. Sign Up for a Facebook Account

Once you’ve signed up, go to facebook.com/pages/create. When you get there, choose the page type you wish to create. Is it for a business, a brand, or a community? Click on the Get Started option for your business and fill out the necessary information about your business.

Your page name will be your business name or a name that will be searched when someone is trying to find such a business. In the category option, input a description of your business. You can choose the right option from the checklist.

If your business can be found in more than one of the options, then you should choose the option closest to your business. Later on, you may wish to add more categories. After you choose the category, you will need to add the other details of your business including the address.

You have the option of making the information public or you may decide that what should be seen by Facebook users should be limited to the city and state only. You may want to read Facebook’s policy on Pages, Groups, and Events. If you are satisfied with it, then you’ll click on continue to move on to the next stage.

2. Upload Pictures to Your Page

Pictures will tell your audience about your business. You can upload profile and cover images to your Facebook page. Use attractive images that will captivate your audience. The profile image will always be seen at the top of your Facebook page and whenever your business is searched, the image will be found in the search results.

If you are using a logo, it will become associated with your brand. This makes it easy for your customers and followers to identify your brand anywhere it is seen. 170 x 170 pixels is the ideal size for desktops and 128 x 128 for mobile devices.

Once you have the right image for your business profile, you should upload it. When choosing your cover image, take note that it will say a lot about your product or brand. Use an image that will give the right impression about your brand and not one that will convey the wrong meaning or relationship to your brand.

For desktops, it will be displayed at size 820 x 312 and 640 x 360 for mobile devices. It is recommended to upload 720 x 315 pixels. Make sure the picture you choose represents your brand well. You will need to edit properly before making it visible to your audience.
