How To Resolve Google Search Console Error - Submitted URL Marked NoIndex - SOLUTION
As I mentioned in the earlier page, I will use All In One SEO as the plugin to resolve this issue. Whichever plugin you use, you should be able to find similar settings to change and resolve this, too.
Let us look at the settings in All In One SEO for NoIndex. Go to General Settings, and then scroll down to the part for NoIndex setting. See image below.
Notice I have indicated that all Categories, Date Archives, Author Archives and Tag Archives are NoIndex. This is my preference. For you, you may have different settings. Just take note of which you have set as NoIndex.
Next, you have to 'program' your Site Map to indicate the same to be NoIndex.
To do this, Go to the setting in All In One SEO > XML Sitemap. Scroll down till you see the Taxonomies section. If you have not modify this area before, you should see the setting as shown below. Notice all the boxes checked (in the red box) - All Taxonomies, Categories, Tags, Format.
What you do is to uncheck all of that, and you should see that section now like this:
After you uncheck all these boxes, remember to Update your Site Map.
Now, your pages and posts are aligned to your Site Map. You are ready to finally resolve this issue.
Go back to Google Search Console, and click on Validate Fix. See image below.
Great training.
May I add that this will however not fix the issues with people that have the warning for pages or posts like for example the privacy policy because these are marked as noindex.
To fix this people have to indicate on the page or posts themselves that they do not want to include it in the sitemap - it can easily be done in All in One just below them meta description.
All the best,
Mikael
