Outbound Marketing

The outbound model of marketing is the traditional model of marketing which man has been familiar with for ages. They include the use of medium like TV, tradeshows radios, seminars and lots more Let me borrow it from HubSpot, it is a method of marketing where marketers push their messages out wide in the open.

The characteristic of this model is to make a sale then provide value. Using the above laptop sale as an example, the salesman is strictly in search for who needs a laptop to solve a present problem. So all he is thinking is showcasing it with a price tag. He adds value after selling his laptop.

Haven defined and explained the difference between inbound and outbound marketing. Do we class them by their type of channels?. If we do that, we will not be right.

Why?

Classifying marketing efforts as inbound or outbound depends on how we use the channel. A lot of channels can serve both purposes. Taking Facebook, for example, businesses do outbound on Facebook, while others do inbound.

If you are on Facebook and all you concentrate on is how your business can help, then what you are doing is outbound marketing, another vital sign is displaying a buy now sign on everywhere your business shows up.

But if you concentrate on helping people within your niche, you help explain concepts, break down definition, explain topical issues. So doing you are not adding value after-sales but adding value even when there is no sale, then you are doing inbound marketing.
