Write a thesis statement...
Once you've got the title sorted out, you need to write out what the main idea is so you can control what you are going to write about.
Usually, your thesis will reflect your opinions about what you have read somewhere else or it will be an expression of your own personal experience.
Ideally, you will explain exactly how your eBook will explain what 'the problem' is and how you will solve that problem.
Once you have done this, you can start formulating your chapters. The foundation has been laid!
Chapter by chapter you will soon see your book growing. Keep your chapters short and to to the point.
Don't forget, your chapters must support your thesis!
And make sure you are confident there is a good reason to be writing the beBook in the first place...
Here's a few questions you should ask yourself...
- Is the information you are presenting useful and currently relevant?
- Does your book reflect positivity?
- Will your eBook hold the reader's attention?
- Your book must answer meaningful and significant answers!
The potential of your book will depend on the above suggestions.
One aspect a lot of writers forget about is this...are you targeting the correct audience?
If you haven't done your research in this department you might as well go back to the start and make sure you know exactly who you are writing for!
You need to know how old they are, is there a gender bias, what are the socio economic backgrounds...the more you know about the target audience in your niche, the easier it will be to write your eBook.
Basically...DO YOUR RESEARCH!
And make sure you have written a list with the reasons why you are writing your eBook in the first place...don't bother writing an eBook on a subject you have no interest in...the readers will pick up on that straight away!
The next page is...
Write down your goals...
Great stuff Steve!!! I'm hoping you'll have a training on marketing eBooks that already exist, but this is great, should I actually write an eBook. EEEEKK!!!
There's a part of me that thinks, "Ugh!!! More writing!" I feel as if I JUST got into a groove with writing for my site....could be I'm selling myself short......there seems to be a fine line between being too hard on yourself and not hard enough.....
Anyway, I appreciate your training Steve. Thank you!!!
