How to install and activate the MailChimp plugin on WordPress, create a MailChimp account and connect it with WordPress!

Hi Folks!

Today, I am going to share video training about how to install and activate MailChimp plugin on WordPress, how to create a MailChimp account and how to connect it with WordPress!

The reason why MailChimp!?

The reason why I decided to create this video training is this: for the first time since I became a Premium member of WA I have created my “Lead magnet” which is an e-book about a hot topic related to online marketing, namely Email Marketing!

It is a 28 pages PDF file I am going to share on my site created here at WA, which will follow 10 consecutive emails, sent twice per week, for the next 5 weeks. Jay is teaching us that it is better to create an e-course, what I will do next as well.

Emails series!

The emails are written as well. Therefore, I needed an automated email marketing service I will use to send emails. I decided to choose MailChimp because it offers great service and it is free to use until you reach 2000 subscribers what is a pretty good number for the start!

This strategy is a great one for promoting Wealthy Affiliate as well, and also for any other program you might be in!

Besides, I consider 10 emails series as a small and practical e-course because the content sent by emails is relevant to my e-book, educative and helpful for the audience.

Incorporating Wealthy Affiliate affiliate links in the e-mail series is a perfect way to promote Wealthy Affiliate. So, you can implement this strategy into your online marketing efforts as well.as

There are another solutions available as well!

i was thinking to start with AWeber as well, as Jay is proposing us in his webinars, but for now, because of the early stage of my campaign and need to get subscribers in a easy and free way, I have decided to go for MailChimp.

I know there are people out there that are considering to launch something similar but they are not sure about the right automated email marketing service and about how to get started with it, so, I hope this video will make more easy for them to choose and start with MailChimp.

In this video you will be able to see the following:

  1. How to install and activate the MailChimp plugin
  2. How to register for and create MailChimp account
  3. How to integrate MailChimp plugin with WordPress using API key

At this point you also need to know that to use MailChimp automated email marketing system, create various web sign-up forms, landing pages, confirmation pages, thank you pages, and email campaigns you don’t need to install and activate MailChimp plugin.

I just wanted to show both things!

Use your MailChimp account to create your promotional material!

As said above, create all this stuff in your MailChimp account! Then, generate the code from created forms or pages and insert it in the desired places within your website, directly into your pages, posts or text widgets on your WordPress site.

If you decide to use MailChimp as your "first-choice-autoresponder" and “funnel-creation-tool” and need some help, please, feel free to contact me and I would be more than happy to help you out.

Wealthy affiliate training about MailChimp!

There is also another awesome training available here at WA on this topic, just search under “MailChimp training!”

One supplemental resource that I recommend is written form the Wealthy Affiliate member Adaba under the name: "Capturing Email Addresses with MailChimp"

The other great resource is also the one created from WA member Shweetlife under the title: "Maximize your Conversions - Simple Funnel & List Training!" Find the link below!

As always, if you liked the training please leave a comment below and I would be more than happy to join the discussion!

I wish you happy "MailChimping" and "see you" next time!

I like your video and the info you presented. I'm wondering if this will work for an email sign up to an Ecookbook? My website is about cooking with MS and getting simpler meals on the table. I was working on a cookbook that gets people a link to my Ecookbook.(I offer a few on my site for free, but I wanted to offer a bunch of recipes for a small fee) I'm not a techie, but I've made it this far? I don't know where to put my cookbook,so I'm kind of just starting to get my thoughts in motion. I have a bunch of plug ins on my site, but not all are activated. I'm not sure which ones I can delete either. Sorry to ramble, but my question is will this plug in help me get email addresses to send each to my Ecookbook?
Thanks for your time! Best wishes to you!

Hi Susan ... I think your ecookbook for MS sufferers will be of enormous help ... and the fact you're giving some samples away should, for sure, build your email subscription base.

Using Mailchimp will definitely work for sending people to your ecookbook link. When people want your free sample, they have to enter their name and email address in your subscription box. They will then either:
- be taken to a "thanks for subscribing" page for the link to your ebook, and/or
- receive a "thank you for subscribing" email from you with link to your ebook

Whatever option you decide, you can determine in Mailchimp when you set up your account.

Hope that helps.

Hi Susan!
The process of getting subscribers to your cookbook is simple. It consists of a few simple steps!

1) Create a book (what you did)
2) Upload created book to your server (your hosting server)
2) Create a graphic for your ebook (if you don't know how, ask me and I can help, or even create you a cover). You will use this graphic (cover of your ebook) to place it on your blog post. You can also just write about your ebook and create an appealing headline about it, but with the graphic, it just works better!
3) Create a MailChimp (or other autoresponder accounts you might have) account
4) Create e-mail series about your ebook (min.5 max.10 - my recommendation, although the length of the email series is up to you)
5) Create an opt-in page or opt-in form on your website with your ebook on it. Besides, create also thank you and download pages for your ebook offer.
6) Offer it as a free ebook or as a paid one (up to you. depending on the purpose). If you offer your ebook for payment, you need to create a payment process account and link it to your ebook!
7) Promote your ebook online
8) Get subscribers

Regarding plugins on your website, use the ones you need. Plugins are great add-ons that can enhance the usability and engagement on your site. The negative side of using too many plugins is slowing down your page loading!

So, decide what you need more and use the plugins according to that! There are many great tutorials within WA about this issue.

That's it from me now! Feel free to ask me more if you need. Glad to help!

Stay well, market better, convert best!

I hope it helps!

Hi Susan!

Plugins are very helpful. Plugins save you many issues with coding and make your site reacher with features. The negative part of overusing them is that they make your site slower during upload online.
For example, I have also a bit more plugins than normal but I don't care to about it. I checked the speed of my site and it looks fine so far. It also comes on the internet speed of the visitors and the power of the server your website resides.

If I should suggest you what plugins to use I would recommend the following:

1) A plugin for SEO (Yoast or All in one SEO)
2) Autoresponder plugin
3) Social plugin
4) WP GDPR Compliance
5) Image optimization plugin
6) If you want a plugin for Landing page and Optin-box (just a proposal)

To build the exact list you need to know what do you want to share on your website and how do you want to engage with your visitors! What do you want to offer them? Also, it is very important that you can optimize your website for visitors and search engines properly. The anti-spam plugin is also very useful, etc....

You may also use some additional once, but don't use more than 6-7 in total.

if you need help, feel free to contact me in private and I would be glad to help.

Best regards,
Igor

Hi Joel,

Research before installing anything is important. Personally, I am leaning towards it because of future interest.

And also, do must admit the step by step training is very easy to "see" and follow.

All the Best,

Hi Igor,

Great "MailChimp WordPress training. However, I will not be installing this plugin today. I need some time to think on this. You do know that too many plugins could affect Sitespeed.

All the Best,

Hi Maxine!
It is recommended to keep up to 5 plugins. I have more, but according to all site speed test I conducted, there is only one page that had a bit worse speed result. The rest of the content and the entire site were fine.

Thanks anyway for the reminder!

Best regards!

With me, you are always welcome. This means we work together to advance positively in same direction. My concern for another plugin is keeping me back. Have you heard anything about Toast plugin that is good for sitemap?

Always have a good day!

Well, regarding sitemaps, I am considering them as a tool for the SE.

Thus, I am not a fan of posting sitemaps on my pages and using various plugins is actually not what I am looking for when creating my site. especially if it is no good for SE! The proper navigation will resolve the issue.

I use sitemaps for better and faster indexing by sending them to GSC (Google Search Console).

To send SiteMaps to Google Search Console for better indexing I am using Yoast plugin which is also an excellent tool for SEO on pages and posts.

Don't be too concerned about plugins. They are created to help. It is easy to work with them. If you think they are lowering the site speed or for any other reason is to a big burden on your site, you just deactivate and delete them. And you can always test your site speed with all of your plugins you have on your site. As said already, in my previous messages, WA is teaching us to install not more than 5 plugins, which I think is pretty enough to work with, depending on the kind of your website, of course.

Plugins are add-ons and you can replace them by coding if you know what to do. Basically, "messing up" too much with coding and other stuff on WordPress, unless you are a master of coding, is not recommended.

At the moment I am not concerned too much about my plugins and I have them several installed on my site.

If I see the site speed becomes slower I will probably remove some of them.

Thanks for the reply!
Best regards!
