Sorting Out Pages with Low Outgoing or Incoming Internal Links
Low incoming links
The most ideal approach to begin improving your internal links is by recognizing pages which have a minimal number of internal links. Each page should have a minimum of 1-2 internal links (pointing to other pages within the same domain).
For this particular one, we will have to leverage the Site Audit feature of the SEMRush tool which you’ll be using as your personal SEO suite. Using the SEMRush tool, you can always sort out pages with low incoming links.
You can get SEMRush totally free for 14 days.
- Go to the site audit feature in your SEMRush account Dashboard and add your site;
- Conduct an overall website audit (the free trial version of this tool will also allow you to run the complete audit).
Locate issues and click on it. Under Notices, click on the option that states, "X pages with just one or less incoming links".
Once you’ve clicked, you’ll see the list of those pages that require your consideration.
While you are leveraging the issue feature of the SEMRush tool, do evaluate a couple of different things.
Anyway, let’s now move on to other pieces of this riddle and sort out pages from where you can begin assigning more internal links.
Thanks for sharing and making it easy to follow. Before reading this I didn’t understand the difference between outgoing or incoming internal links. I always appreciate learning something new.
All the best to you,
