First thing is first, when you have a new site, you must tell the search engines about it, in order to get indexed!

The first thing you are going to do, is send in your Main URL to the search engines by going to Google and typing in "Submit URL"

Thanks for the info here Huffman but unfortunately it is not so simple for me. I am being prompted to download a HTML file in order to upload it to my website for verification. Totally confused on how to do that.

I'm assuming they (Google) have changed their process. Any tips?

Thanks

Hi Kenneth,

Recently Google has removed the public version of their submit URL tool.

Check out this method

Hi Zed,

Thanks for the feedback, very much appreciated.

But how on earth did you determine my name was Kenneth :)

Cheers,
Paul

Thanks for pointing that out, I just did a check myself, you're right.

I use search console and fetch everyone of my posts but I submit them to Google Plus before I submit them to search console, just preference. This training was mainly for younger websites to get indexed quicker while you still learn the ropes of Google Search Console and all the other countless tools, I will have to make a note in the training...

Within Google Search Console you will need to prove or verify you own your website, so going into your website editor and adding the verification code is what you will need to do.

Check this out, feel free to skip around in the video since it is a webinar but Google Search Console is covered.

Bing and Yahoo have 1/3 of the searches world wide. Might as well get indexed there too!
