How Does Twitter Work?

You've probably seen some branded Tweets on the first page of Google search results. It would be awesome if Google showed your tweets on the 1st page, just like it does for all other major brands.

Twitter is an excellent tool for marketing your company, but does it also have the potential to influence search results?

This question can be answered by finding out if Google can access Twitter's data to display your tweets.

Google had complete access to Twitter's data stream in 2009 so that it could quickly pick up tweets with algorithms. The access ended, however.

Google Access to Twitter

Webmasters were surprised to discover that Google's real-time search disappeared on July 3, 2011, and this shocked the Internet community. Soon after, it became clear that the main reason behind this decision was Google's loss of access to Twitter data streams. Google and Twitter have cut all ties!

Twitter was involved in talks with Google to repair the damage. However, it seems that Google still does not have full access to Twitter for indexation. Google must crawl it like any other website.

Does that mean one cannot use Twitter for some SEO value? It doesn't. There are many ways that Twitter can help you rank higher in Google.

Next, let look at using Twitter for SEO.

Thanks for this piece, Lily! Despite Googe's inability to access Twitter data streams as much as it requires, Twitter keeps waxing stronger by the day. You just cannot do without exploring this great social media site for sharing posts and video tweets.

Yes Myra. It seems easier to ignore some of the social platforms but it depends on your website niche.
