Using WordPress Express:
Next you will need to go to "Tools & Research" at the top of this page or click here. Once there click on Access WordPress Express. Then click on create a blog.
From here you need to select "Install using an Existing Domain Hosted at WA" and click on your domain name. Then you can name the sub directory if you choose otherwise it becomes the first page of your directory.
Next is the more time consuming part (unless you know what you want). You have to pick a layout for your blog. Notice there are 100+ pages of different options. I would recommend using the advanced search (it allows you to pick what colours and themes you want to see on your blog). Once you have picked click Continue on the bottom.
The next page just asks for a confirmation that all the information you put in is ok. Once you see it's fine then click create blog on the bottom. This will bring you to a page verifying some more information. This feature is now up and working. Click on the part where it says yourdomain.com/blog/wp-admin and you can now log into your WordPress Blog using the login information given and start posting.
To Install a WordPress Blog:
The WordPress Express wasn't working when I first joined so it took me a while longer to figure this part out. These are the steps needed to make a WordPress blog without WordPress Express. (Now suggested as just a backup method)
First you will need to create a database for your blog. This is done through the Plesk control panel. To log in go to WA Web Hosting and click login beside your domain name. Once you have logged in click on the Databases option.
Then click Add New Database. Name the database whatever you want. (I used username_wp) Just remember this information. Once you have added your database you need to add a user as well. Just put something easy for you to remember here. (Just something simple will work too. username admin and password 123123 is fine.)
Remember or write down these things. Database name (username_wp), your username and password.
Next we need to download WordPress. To do this go click here and download the zipped file. Save it to a location you will be able to find easily.Once you have downloaded the file you need to unzip the folder. (Either double click or right click and select uncompress or unzip) This should then create a folder with what looks like random files. Select them all and copy them.
Log into your FTP and open the httpdocs folder.
Create a new folder called blog or whatever the sub directory was from the steps before.
Open the new folder you just created and paste all the files you copied from before.
One of the files you just copied over is called "wp-config-sample.php" rename it to "wp-config.php". Now right click the newly renamed and select edit. If you don't have an HTML editor like Dreamweaver it should open up in notepad or something similar.
Now edit the following items. Where it says "define('DB_NAME', 'database_name_here');" replace "database_name_here" with your database name from the first steps. Where it says "define('DB_USER', 'username_here');" replace "username_here" with your username from before. Where it says "define('DB_PASSWORD', 'password_here');" replace "password_here" with your password from before. The final product should look like this.
Save this change and close the editor. CoreFTP should now ask you if you wish to overwrite the old file with the new one. Select Overwrite.
Now open a new internet browser window or tab and type in yourdomain.com/blog or whatever you used for your sub directory. It should now come up to a webpage like this.
Now name your site and create a username and password for your blog that you will use to sign in. Make sure the last checkbox (Allow my site to appear in search engines like Google and Technorati.) is selected. This is essential for later when you want to make money from your blog.
Once you click Install WordPress it should take only a couple of seconds to install. Now you can log into and see your blog. To see it just use yourdomain.com/blog and to sign in and edit or add posts use yourdomain.com/blog/wp-admin
Next we will learn how to change the themes of your blog.
