Wordpress gallery for sidebars

Just before we see the shortfall of this method I will like to let you know that apart from adding images to post, you can also add Gallery to sidebars and footers. This is done using the gallery widget.

Go back to your dashboard and click on the appearance option.

Select the widget, drag it and drop it into the sidebar or footer where you want to place the image.

We have seen how to set up your gallery both in the post and also in widgets. But I must mention, Galleries set up by default from the post has its drawback, they cannot open in a new page and many times they are not clickable. Worst of it all is the appearance of your gallery, it puts you at the mercy of your theme. Also, the gallery is not stored anywhere, so each time you need it you have to recreate it.
