So ...

Upon activation, go to mb.ideas => YTPlayer to access the plugin configuration page:

First of all, you'll have to enter the URL of the YouTube video you want to use as video background. And you can add multiple, comma separated URLs to dispaly random backgrounds!

The free version of the plugin will allow you to ...

  • choose on which page you want the background video to be shown (static homepage, blog index homepage, both, all)
  • start the video from where you left last time

The Plus version of the plugin (12€) will provide you with a bunch of additional options. First of all, you'll be able to use a shortcode that will allow you to display a given video background on any particular post, page, etc. Also, you'll be able to add video controls, to define the aspect ratio, the video quality, the start and end time, the fullscreen behavior, to add Google Analytics tracking, etc.

All you need to do is edit the given post/page and click on the YTPlayer button on the post editor:

You'll be taken to a shortcode generator screen where you need to enter the YouTube video URL and then go through the options:

Once you are happy with your choices, simply click the "Insert Shortcode" button ...

OK. Now let's see some closing thoughts ...
