Drag text to Sidebar.

Paste the HTML Code for your Picture or Image where the arrow is pointing. At the bottom of the text for the Code, you can add some text that will tell your visitors about yourself or about your website. Don't forget to click on "SAVE" at the bottom.

I usually add images using the add media tab on the page itself, is what you are showing is something different.

Yes, this is a lesson on how to copy the Elements of a Picture or an Image and make a Widget to add to your Sidebar or other locations. I hope this answers your question, aikiman.

When you use the "Add Media Tab", these are images that you add to a post or page, to add to a Widget, it's quite different, you have to copy the Element of the Image as I show in the Tutorial.

Actually, you can also copy the Elements of Images in the Media Library and these can be added to a Widget. I hope you understand, aikiman. Take care.
