How to Add Google Analytics to Your WordPress Site Without Installing a Plugin
Prior to adding Google Analytics to your site, try to do a backup for your theme so you can always get it recovered in case anything goes wrong.
- Locate your Google Analytics tracking code
- Add your Analytics Tracking code to your header.php file
Locate Your Google Analytics Tracking Code
To locate your Google Analytics tracking code, log in your Analytics account and choose the website to which you want to add the tracking code.
Click on the Admin link on the left taskbar.
Under the Property column, click on the Tracking Info, then on the Tracking code.
The next step is to copy the tracking code under the Website Tracking tab

You're very correct, Karax, that adding Analytics code to the header.php file would surely warrant redoing the same whenever there's a cause to switch between themes. And that was why I recommended in my training tutorial that you can simply add your Google Analytics tracking ID to your site without having to insert any HTML code at all. Thanks for stopping by!
