As I have mentioned prevously, I am not a great fan of Gutenberg. I believe it is over-hyped and over complicated, cluttering up the Code Editor with unnecessary code, and not making it easy to understand, particularly for those new to website building, the worst aspect of which is inserting images.

There are a number of ways you can insert images, but whatever method you use, it is a matter of trial and error and hit and miss. No longer, as in pre-Gutenberg, can you insert you images wherever you want them in the paragrah, wrapping your text round the image, by default they will now be aligned with the first line of the paragraph.

Want to give it a try? First you need to open an Image block above the paragraph where you want the image to appear. You can move the image up or down between paragraphs but I find it less messy to open the image block where you want the image to appear. Once you have opened the Image block you should see this:

Now click on whichever option you prefer, for this example I have used the Media Library. If you use the Media Library, click in the image you want and then Insert, and you should see this:

By default the image will align left, but as you can see, I have chosen to align right. Click on Preview, and you should see this:
