Setting Up Rich Pins for Your Blog

Rich Pins can be set up in most of the popular CMS used for blogs. However, since most blogs are built on WordPress, we will focus this section on setting up Rich Pins for WordPress.

Step 1: Add Metadata

Yoast SEO plugin offers the easiest way to set up Rich Pins for use on WordPress. Download the plugin if you don't already have it and install. Configure the plugin by adding all social media links.

Once it is configured you can navigate to SEO > Social > Facebook tab and click "enabled" under Add Open Graph metadata. You're now set to display blog post as Articles Rich Pin.

Step 2: Validate and Apply

Proceed to Rich Pins Validator by adding the URL of one of your posts into validator box and click on "validate". The green check means that your Pins have been validated and then next is to apply.

Approval may take a couple of minutes to some days depending on when your request is reviewed after which your Pins will start showing up as Rich Pins.

Do you know the answer the these questions.

1. Do you have to claim you website before you can do Rich Pins.

2.Do you have to have meta data on all posts before you can get a Rich Pins, validated.

Hello Jackie, in order to get access to your blog analytics, you'd need to claim your website first. I'm going to create a special training on how you can claim your website prior to using Pinterest Rich Pins. I'll have a detailed answer for you in my future training which may likely be one of the next two.

In order to get Rich Pins validated, you're required by Pinterest to add Meta tags of your posts. Not to worry, my future posts will clarify more on these!

I claimed my website and validated Rich Pins a few days ago. I have been working on my Pinterest account, and it is coming along nicely.

Thanks for the information about Rich Pins on Pinterest. I am currently using All in One SEO, so I need to see if they offer something similar to Yoast for the metadata.

I have learned a lot from your post! I have not heard of Rich pins, and I am thinking this might help me get some much-needed traffic. I'm going to go and download the plugin now. When adding a pin to Pinterest, do I do it the same as always to take advantage of the Rich pin?

Yes, it will definitely help in driving tons of traffic to your blog, but it only will work if you can be consistent and stay active. I'm using the All-In-One and it is telling me that I shouldn't have both. Do I need to delete one? I am not tech savvy, and I don't want to "mess" things up.
