Another good place to look is the
clerk. Going back to the electronics example, I might walk up to the
clerk and ask:
I see a lot of people were looking at the cameras, what is hot in cameras? Digital cameras, camcorders, what do you sell the most of? What should I be walking home with now to be hip?
While I don't suggest actually saying it like that, open a dialog with the sales person and let them do the hard work for you. Listen attentively, then when your done and move to the next section of the store jot down some notes.
