I. Decide on Your Market Niche - It is possible that you already have products or services to be offered, so your niche would have already been decided by now. If you haven't yet decided on a market niche, your first consideration should be a niche that you are comfortable with. The main objective of your forum marketing is to build your brand into an authority figure in that niche; so choose a niche that you can cherish for so long.

II. Finding The Right Forums for Your Niche - The next step after you have your niche is to find the right forums for your niche. Google search would be very helpful. Visit Google and type "affiliate marketing + forum" in the search bar, where affiliate marketing represents your niche market. This search should display affiliate marketing forums. You should exchange the term "affiliate marketing" with your chosen niche.

III. Ensure You are in Compliance With Forum Guidelines - Every forum has their rules and guidelines that members must adhere to. Take time to go through the forums you have shortlisted from your Google search. Find out if joining the forum will enable you to achieve your business objectives. Some forums restrict members from posting ads in the discussions but allow that in members' signatures. Armed with this information you can then decide if to proceed or not.

IV. Do Your Research on Forum Discussions - Every forum has its peculiarities. Find out what makes the forum tick, what kind of discussions get the highest engagements, how they are formatted and other details that could be of help.

V. Build Credibility and Trust for Your Brand - You build credibility and trust by sharing accurate and helpful posts in the forum's discussions. With much consistency you will get noticed and others will seek your views in areas they think you have good knowledge about.

VI. Kick Off With Promoting - Start promoting your brand on the forums you belong, after you must have successfully carried out the previous steps.

VII. Optimize Your Signature With The Right Keywords - Use the right keywords of your niche inside your signature. This is the part that is most obvious to members of the forum.

VIII. Respond to Posts and Replies - As you post information in the forums, you might get comments or questions that require your response. Respond to all of them as quickly as you can.

IX. Protect Your Brand From Controversy - Forums are public platforms that get members enmeshed in controversies once in a blue moon. Stay away from all controversies as they will cast negative light on your brand.

X. Become an Authority Figure in That Niche - Having done all the above, you should be seen as an authority in your niche. Establish that authority and use this to position your business as a brand that can be trusted.

This is good training. To add my experience to your already excellent post, I have used forums for years and got lots of good quality leads from them, simply by sharing experiences and so on

Its a reason why we should focus on building our blogs out, because they showcase our experience and a properly constructed and planned blog will serve two purposes

Can be used to highlight your brand experience and bring leads to you through quality, targeted content
