A Bit Of Help For New Entrants To Increase Their Reach

This is a post directed mainly at new entrants who have joined Wealthy Affiliate in the last 3-6 months. Within the Wealthy Affiliate Community, our initial steps would normally be to :

  • Make new friends
  • Gain comments on our articles/blogs
  • Join relevant Social Media channels
  • Generally spread our reach.

Threads

There are some conversation "Threads" inside of Wealthy Affiliate that can contribute towards this end. I thought it would be nice for everyone to know about these Threads, and to start using them to mutual advantage.

What Do I Mean When I Say "Join a Thread"?

By joining threads, I mean that you should bookmark all these threads into one folder on your Bookmarks Bar, so that you can open all these Tabs with one click every morning. That's the only way to remember all the tasks that you have to do on a periodic basis. And these could become your periodic/daily tasks.

Thanks for posting this lesson. I found it a very useful collection of daily tasks that are beneficial to everyone. I was actually wondering about Facebook and Twitter threads. Whats the story with these types of threads? Can anyone create them, or are they authorised by Kyle and Carson?
Cheers

I guess it would have to be approved by Kyle, as that would be the right thing to do. That's what Schalk (Szeeman) did.

I cannot remember what the actual issue was. But I faintly recall that Kyle attempted this type of thread before and for some reason or another it ended a bit in a shambles. I will have to ask him to remind me what the reason for that was?

One thing I can say, which I think is not that relevant to the situation mentioned above, but which is a valid point to remember is that FB does not allow you to unnaturally elevate the popularity/status of your FB page with a like for like type of exchange. That said, YouTube probs also falls in the same category. So if this is attempted it needs to be done very subtly and carefully as not to raise suspicion so no mention of any such on FB itself for example of the creation of a FB page that promotes likes for likes etc. as that will not last very long at all.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you have people that just follow you on FB and Twitter because of a like for a like and a follow for a follow it means that you do not really have followers that are targeted and follow you because they are interested in the content you are posting and therefore there is not that much point in this practice.

With YouTube this is slightly different as the amount of subscribers you have does allow you to e.g. create a custom URL for your YouTube channel once you have over a 100 subscribers and once you have a certain amount of subscribers and watch time then you will be able to start monetising your YouTube channel. So the watch time and subscribes from WA members will certainly help you to reach that goal. Also comments, likes and audience retention helps your videos to rank better in Google etc.

So in general it makes a lot more sense to follow this practise with caution when it comes to YouTube, but a bit less so perhaps when it comes to other social media platforms.

Aparna, this is such excellent training!

All the threads in one place.

When I started at WA, it took me a while to find the threads and join.
It would have been much more helpful to have had everything in one place like this.

I have booked marked this and will be sharing it with my Referrals.

Thank you so much.

Hi Aparna
Valuable advice this. I tend to stumble on threads by accident rather than taking the time to check out what is there. It is worth making the effort to cast our eyes a little wider than our habits otherwise dictate.
Best regards
Andy

“Bookmark and name the file”...genius,.....how is it when someone points out the bleeding obvious that one can feel the class clown for missing the sensible obvious approach, instead..... as in the case of me,.......who behaved like my very elderly mother who thinks WiFi is pronounced whifee and who switches off her tablet for 23 hours out of 24 as it “always needs a charge up”

I am really really pleased to have found this bit of training, I am not a new entrant nor a newcomer, i recognise the real importance of these threads; each and every time I use them I have to remind myself where they are, usually going into my PM area....not now...

I just want to reiterate to the newcomers, these threads are real golden nuggets, don’t do as I do, (which is have my files in disorganised chaos) do as Aparna suggests, name them & bookmark them. 👍🤗 then use them.

Oh, Cordelia, you are too kind. Your websites are testimony to the kind of organized hard work you have put in. But thank you for being so sweet :)

Love,
