I am using "Redirect WordPress to welcome or landing page." (yeah, long name.)

Go to settings for this plugin after you install to add you new page.

I have mine set to "Home Page Only" since most of my traffic hits that page and I have other opt-ins around my site.

Well that's the concept. The most time comsuming part is getting the landing page to look the way you want. Unfortunately, you do need to know HTML to do basic edits on these so if this is something you want done one your site you will have to brush up on, or learn, HTML.

SumoMe sort of does. The welcome mat app does have a 'landing page' option but you need to pay for the app to use it. Else it still is a drop down.

turns out it does but since your click went to my home page and you have not been there since I added this it reverted you back. if you got again it should work (unless you are in private mode)
