The first step in the process is building a master list of ideas. What I like to do is sit down and research all of the products and topics I want to highlight. I’m not just talking about researching enough topics to last me a week or even a month. I’m talking about researching enough ideas to get me through an entire year or more.

If that seems scary, I totally understand. To be completely honest, it is the longest part of the process. However, doing it will make your life 10 times easier when you sit down to write your posts.

For example, I run a fitness website, so what I did was took a couple of days to research fitness products. I separated them in to various categories like:

  • Stationary Bikes
  • Treadmills
  • Fitness Accessories
  • Adjustable Weights

Now that is not all of the categories, but you get the idea. I did the same for all of my non-product review, topical posts as well. I like to write about various things including nutrition, diets, restaurant survival guides, etc.

Think about the niche you are in and how you could break it down. Then build your list of products and topics to write about.

This is crucial to do before moving on to Step 2: Scheduling Your Posts
