How will I know if my application was received?

You will know when you apply for copyright registration online. You will receive confirmation by email that your application has been received.

Important Points To Remember:

# If you do send your application by postal mail, you will not receive an acknowledgement.

# If you want to know when the copy right office receives your mailed application

# Send it and request a return receipt from theU.S. postal Services.

# You must allow four to six weeks for the return of your receipt.

We are getting there, bare with me!

Great Tutorial Louisa .. it maybe worthwhile for everyone to read a little more about this. Wikipaedia is a good place to start.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_registration

It would seem in USA registration is not required for copyright and it seems that way for most countries under the Berne Convention. However, in the USA registration has implications if one wishes to take legal action. And there is more ...

I am not qualified in law and I am not providing legal advice in this or any other comment.

Cheers, William.
