The next thing to do is to share it in Reddit... but this comes with a little note of warning!

Until recently I have found Reddit users to be A-holes. Yeah I'm sorry to be so blunt here and maybe I am wrong and just managed to land myself in the middle of the only bad apples... this was about 2 years ago.

I joined Reddit, yes obviously to share my content and when I started there I got blasted for it. I mean I literally got ripped apart and ganged up on by the users there. It felt really bad. Yes I understand I broke their rules but it honestly was not intentional.

So sharing your own content is considered "self promotion"..... and a big no-no there. Anyway everyone says how they share their content on Reddit and I did and got nailed!

I recently went back, very carefully might I add!

I found one Reddit that allows you to post your own content and I advise you that if have never tried Reddit to use that one only to post in... and not to post too often.

I still haven't quite figured out Reddit but I have found that one place I can post my content without being killed.

So here is the Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/writers/

So you join Reddit and join that Reddit, then you submit your content. You just click on the "Submit Resource" button on the right.

Then enter your title and url. Simple enough.

Now here is where things are going to get interesting. Keep that Reddit page open then take that Reddit url for your post and do to Digg and submit that to Digg.

This is really easy to do, just scroll to the bottom of the Digg website http://digg.com/ and in the footer menu is an option to "Submit A Link"... so just put your Reddit Link in there.

Now go back into the Reddit and under your link you will see a box like shown in the screenshot below. Click on "formatting"

Then copy and paste the coding as shown below into the box. Amend it so that you've got it like this: [my post title](https://myposturl.com) and then save.

Great so you're second task is done, let's head onto the next one!

What does pinging your content do?

Pinging a link submits it to various directories and blogs around the world, letting them know you have new content. This means search engines will find it faster.

Thanks for another great training! Can you explain what pinging a link is and why it is important? I have never done this.

Awesome thanks. I will give that a try. Does it matter which one of these sites I use? Are there any you prefer?

Well I use Pingoat. Simply because a lot of what I have learned here is from Jay's webinars and he suggested Pingoat.... and I just follow suggestions, especially when it is from someone like Jay!

Got it. I will give that a try. Since I have never submitted an article, would it be a good idea to submit all my articles, or would that be a waste of time?

I wouldn't do all them now, rather maybe take the last one you did and take that through the process and then in future follow this recipe immediately after publishing the content.
