PAGE 1: How to know if you can use a YouTube video on your website

PAGE 2: Where to click to embed a YouTube video

PAGE 3: Setting the size of video for your website

PAGE 4: Where to copy and paste html code

I remember when I first started this internet thingy and I had a question that I have seen many newbies to WA ask and that is, can I use someone else’s YouTube video on my website? The answer is yes and here is how to know and implement.

LOOK FOR EMBED BUTTON

Go to YouTube and click on a video you want to use. Then scroll down to just under the play window and look for the “Share” button, see below image.

Now click on the “Share” button and you should see the screen slightly change. Look for the “Embed” button, see below image. If there is no embed button, which is quite rare, then the video isn’t meant to be used.

NEXT UP = Where to click to start embed process.

Hi:
I followed your instructions and it worked but the vid loaded with a 7 secs delay.
I had already uploaded the vide before but without the settings you explained on page 2. and it did not delay.
Where is the problem?
Thanks

hmm, I've never experienced a delay before with all of the videos I used.

NOTE: when you embed a video you are not uploading the video file to be played on your server. When you embed you are simply linking to its host server, which in this case is YouTube.

If you just click "Share" and then use the shortened URL YouTube gives you, won't that link be one you can use that will produce a video that is responsive and adjusts size according to the device being use? I could be wrong. That's what I've always done.

You could do that but I have seen times where that hasn't worked so well. So to avoid any problems I prefer the way I mention.

Plus when it comes to positioning or centering a video, it is best to enter <center> immediately prior to the html code and </center> immediatel after within the text editor.
