2. Capture Search Intent with Your Content

When people make online searches, they are actually looking for a particular kind of information.

A search query such as "how to build your site backlinks" is an information-type search – definitely not a search for products, or prices of backlinks solutions.

When a search like "best prices for used iPhone" is made, the intent is for the product prices and where they can be bought.

Google is able to identify search Intent and use it to deliver search results.

So, when creating posts for your site, decide on the search intent before putting pen on paper.

3. The Use of SSL Certificate to Secure Your Site

HTTPS (Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol) enables secure communication between a browser and a web server.

To find out if a website uses HTTPS, check the address bar to see if there is any padlock at the left.

Google places a high premium on secure sites and has used it as a search ranking metric since 2014.

If your website doesn't have it, you can easily purchase one from your web hosting provider. Wealthy Affiliate offers you a free SSL certificate for the lifetime of your domain if you’re a premium member. And it includes a simple one-click installation that becomes active within a few minutes.

Great information Israel, thank you. Great Bio too :) , lots of experience with this topic, I see.

I have about 18 posts on 2 websites, half of which are indexed. Honestly, I don't know how, all I did was title SEO, included the title in the 1st paragraph and wherever possible throughout the post without KW stuffing.

If my memory serves me the descriptions are on auto, after that ??????. This is all I’ve done thus far. Can you recommend any next step, maybe a training to follow or, does WA training cover this - currently I’ve just started lesson 3.

I am now following your success :)

Hey Ger, thanks for your message! It's been a great start already! All you need to do consistently now is posting fresh and original content and promoting the content on forums and social media networks.

Hi Israel,

Great post!
My desktop speed is ok but my mobile page speed is about 35-40. Google states that my images need to be compressed. I use the Kraken Image optimizer plugin and I don't really put more than 5 or 6 images in a post, typically thumbnails. Is there a better image compression plugin that you can recommend? All my website pages always load very quickly on my iPhone, and I've tried it in three different states.

Thanks,
Frank

Quite a few members also use Hummingbird. You can also try the new NextGen format of WebP, instead of JPG, PNG and GIF etc

Thanks, Chrystopher!

Will Hummingbird automatically compress the images on all the posts I have already published?
I have tried to load WebP images into the classic editor but for some reason, I get a "loading error", weird.

WordPress doesn't support WebP just yet, but you can use a Plugin to get around this. The plugin can also serve a backup image for browsers that don't yet support WebP

Hey Frank, aside from using a plugin (which may not help out sometimes), try reducing the number of images attached to posts to 3-4 per post. Then edit the dimension properly before updating any post.

Sizing images correctly for the web, before uploading them, is always advisable, I agree :-)

Hi Israel,
Can you be a bit more specific about editing the dimension before updating?
Thanks!

Hi Chrystopher,
What’s the maximum image size I should use for the web?
Thanks!

That would depend on your websites layout/theme, but let's say you have a full screen image, then most computer screens are optimised for 1920 x 1080. So that would be the maxium I would recommend. However, the optimal image size is based on where you are placing the image. I.e. Lets say you have a main content, with a sidebar, and some padding either side, then you will not want an image more than about 600px wide. You need to base your dimensions on your particular website.

Can we use other websites link without their permission?

Using other people's domain URLs in your content has advantages and disadvantages. An advantage of this is that it can help you get more traffic. A disadvantage of using other people's links without their awareness is that they may eventually disavow your link from their domain and this is a negative signal to Google, which may lower your search rankings seriously.

Thank you, I find that as I add social media, my bounce rate keeps going up as social stats they only spend about 20 secs on any page.
