Accelerated Mobile Pages – SEO Benefits

While Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) will improve the mobile user experience, it can also bring about a substantial benefit to your search engine optimization and online marketing. The following are the reasons:

  1. The most compelling reason AMP content will receive an SEO boost is due to the fact that those pages appear on the Google News carousel – which is prioritized on top of mobile searches. Thus, being a featured AMP page means more consideration; you can rest assured that as the number of companies registering an account to submit their content for publication increases, the more significant it’s going to be for you to stay on the AMP framework.
  2. The page load time is a crucial signal in your search engine ranking; also, an average mobile user won’t stay for more than 5 – 6 seconds for any page to load completely. So, the quicker your page loads, the more you’ll rank your blog and the more your posts get found. It suffices without stating that AMP pages will assign a boost to content in search results, and with Mobilegeddon still hovering over the head of online marketers, there’s a high probability that Google’s upcoming updates will give much more priority to mobile-friendly media.
  3. The Bounce Rate: the loading speed will not alone have your readers remaining on your page for a long time, but it will also help you improve/reduce your bounce rate. While it may probably not be the most crucial SEO signal for ranking sites, a lower bounce rate communicates to search engines that your pages offer the quality they claim they offer and that your readers find them useful.

Concentrate on AMP for all of your content, and you’ll begin to see that readers stay longer than they used to do ever.

Hi Israel,

Very timely lesson that I have to study. I am doing great with my desktop speeds but pretty much all my mobile speeds are in the yellow.

I do have the accelerated mobile speed plugin activated but can's get my mobile speeds in the green.

I do realize the importance of good mobile speeds.

Thank you for the lesson.

Best wishes,
Michael
