4 - Create Your Own Thumbnails

A lot of people will tell you not to judge a book by its cover, but they turn around judging a video by its thumbnail.

The thumbnail is what creates the first impression about your video. And if that impression isn't strong enough, you end up losing a lot of viewers.

So make sure you take the time to create very attractive and compelling thumbnails. If you don't create it yourself, someone else will.

While uploading a video on YouTube, you have the option of including a thumbnail or YouTube will do it for you automatically.

If you create the thumbnail yourself, you decide how you want it to look. But if YouTube does it for you, there's likelihood that it won't give you the best thumbnail.

So make it a rule of thumb to always create that attractive thumbnail that your video deserves.
