What’s the next step?
Using the above methods you can easily create an initial list with some promising products. Once you have your initial list, you’ll have to evaluate each product separately by asking yourself the following 6 questions:
- Will the people I market to get real value from this product? Will buying it benefit them?
This should always be your number one priority. This is probably the biggest secret when you are trying to solve the “how to affiliate program” mystery! If a particular product has a good conversion rate and a very attractive commission percentage, but you know that the product is not really good – then FORGET IT.
- What is the conversion rate of the product?
As we’ve already discussed, this is the most important factor. The higher the conversion rate, the easier will be for you to generate a sale. Period.
- What is the commission rate?
Obviously, the higher the better, and as I told you earlier, you should try to find products with payouts between 40-50%.
- How much will I get paid per sale?
This is also a very important issue, right? Let’s see an example … You have two products: the first one which converts at about 5%, offers 60% commission and sells for $5, and the second one which also converts at 5%, but only offers 30% commission while sells for $25. Hopefully, you know which one is better for you …
- What is the refund rate of the given product?
A high refund rate is a clear red flag. Guess not much comments are needed …
- Do I get a flat one-time payment or recurring commissions?
Another very important – and already discussed – issue. Your goal is to get recurring commissions for every single sale you have made (for example, membership sites with monthly fees).
These 6 simple questions will help you to narrow down your initial list and eventually, to make your final choices.
Once you have your answers (for each product) the rest is simple math … Do the math and you’ll find your top affiliate products to promote!
