6. Pages That Could Not Be Crawled

For a site to be ranked on search engines, the search engine bots must be able to crawl (assess) a particular page of the site and index its content. This implies that any page that cannot be crawled by the search engine bots will not be indexed; and so, won't be on the SERPs.

7. Duplicate Content Issue

If your webpage experiences this issue, it implies that your website was found to have enormous blocks of very similar content or exactly identical content across multiple pages. Most of the time, this problem is either caused by an error in technical implementation or just an accident.

8. Loading Speed of Pages

Online users tend to leave pages that take too long to load. Web pages that load slowly do not have a good chance on Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs), because Google considers page loading speed for ranking.

It's even tougher for sites with slow loading speed in an era of high-speed internet connection, where both apps and web pages load in a flash. Your site should have high loading speed to improve more activities on it, thus making your webpage rank higher in search engines.

9. Sitemap Errors

A sitemap is a file that helps search engine crawlers easily navigate through a webpage. This kind of issue occurs when a sitemap.xml provides a piece of very poor information for search engine crawlers.

10. Broken Internal Images

Both Google and web users do not like broken images. When an image on your site does not load, it affects user experience as well as the content integrity of your page. This could decline your organic rankings.

Although missing pages and broken links are rarely experienced by web users, anyone can fix them. The key lies in sighting them.

As a website owner, it is important to pay much attention to little things on your page, because they can cause great harm to your site visibility. You can use tools to monitor and keep your domain's SEO status in check.

A good example of such a tool is the SEMRush SEO kit. With this tool, you can keep track of and improve your online visibility.

Thanks for your article, Israel. I'm constantly working on those points on my sites.

I'm finding that so many really good sites have no meta description at all, and that includes some sites built by WA members too.

Locally I was wondering whether to offer my services for a small fee during this lockdown.

You're absolutely right, Chris! Most people don't add the Meta description before hitting the Publish button. This is a vital step to be taken to improve SEO. Thanks for leaving a comment!
