Please help- freaking out!!!
Got my first website client. I screwed up big time. He has an existing site but wants it revamped with same domain. When I switched the hosting, I chose a theme to start and realized I had just erased his entire site!!! How do I get it back???? He's going to freak out! He gets about 5,000 visitors per day and that is his business!!!

How are things? I am so sorry to hear this happened to you. I think it is the first freaked-out blog that has a right to be so. usually it is only concerning personal stuff. This one is major. Let us know how it goes!
Thanks, I am usually NOT a drama person but yes, I screwed up big time. I called the previous hosting dude and asked him to restore the site on his server until the new site was completed. He said that he would be happy to but wasn't at the office and would do it when he returned later this afternoon. I also asked him to send me his latest back up files and data.
I'm so worried about the missed traffic this is going to cause my new customer! I knew I was out of my league taking on an actual client yet.
I'll keep ya posted....
Thanks Tracy, I am wishing you the absolute best turnout. Maybe some of those visitors will just think the site is down and try again after you get it back up and going!
Hi Tracy, glad to see you got your answer already as both Kyle and Lemark among others are correct.

Thanks Rich. I know you would have known what to do as well. I appreciate you caring enough to click on my desperate post.
Like Wayne said below. Usually if you contact the hosting company, they will have a copy of the website's file. Contact them to see if they can put it live again.
You didn't erase it. It is just not accessible. If I understand you correctly you've moved the domain elsewhere?
If yes - contact the support at former hosting and ask them for the latest backup - files and database.
Or return the DNS to former state as Kyle suggested, wait for the old site to show up (don't forget to hard reload the page because your browser is caching it), make a backup of everything.
After all that consider and plan all your steps. There are a lot of great tutorials available on how to migrate Wordpress sites with different scenarios. Find the one that suites your situation, think it over and plan again. For starters read this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress.
Then you'll be ready for the migration.
Lesson learned big time. I think I just turned my hair gray and had a mini stroke. I just don't want this sweet man loosing any business because I was over zealous!!
Contact the host. In the future when dealing with clients websites specifically make a backup before starting work.
I would contact Kyle or Carson privately. See if they have experience with this. I've never come across this yet!

Switch the DNS back where it was and create a new site in SiteRubix. When you get it like he wants it then you can switch back.
That way there should be no loss.
Thank you. I contacted the previous hosting guy and he said he would change it back when he got back to his office. I just hope it's soon or else my sweet client could be loosing a lot of traffic.
teacup that solution should work
