An essential question that every business owner or entrepreneur should answer before offering a product or service.

What is your unique selling proposition?

If you don't know your prospect will not know either. It is not set in stone, it can change and should based on who you are targeting. Some products appeal to entirely different market segments.

Here is the underlying rationale Most likely your products or services have competition some more than others, If the product or service you are offering is an essential need, people have been satisfying those needs with similar competitive products and services.

What makes your offer/product different?

If it is a brand new product a new service, then you are unique.

And still, you must find a succinct way to clearly articulate it to your prospects. You need to tell them; what job you will perform for them, or how will they gain or what pain they will avoid.

Your unique selling proposition is your hook, the line that sticks out and is preferably memorable. Like "Just do it", "Have it your way" these companies have invested heavily in these short phrases, and they work.

It is the first and last thing you want your prospects to remember about your product or service..

Of course, it is not easy to come up with such memorable phrases. Most likely it can be expressed in one or two sentences.
